How is everyone's team setting up for the tourney?

Right now the ESPN Bracketology WAG has the Aggies as a #6 in the East Region starting off with UAB.

We finish up with Ok St at home, and OU on the road. If we can win both of those, and a game in the XII tournament, I like our chances of being no worse than a 5 seed...

Gators went down tough tonight but not tough enough.

In spite of wins over likely tourney teams MSU, FSU and Tenn and a non-con that included #1 Syracuse I suspect UF will again be the last team left out as they were last year.

If so I'm not watching a minute of them in the NIT.

Pretty disappointing for a team so close.

The Irish will need a very strong finish just to get on the bubble. We finish with UConn at home tomorrow night, they have more talent than we do but they have not played up to that talent consistently. Last game will be on the road at Marquette a team that has a better record in the Big East than we do so likely a loss. 1-1 and 2 wins in the Big East Tourney might get us in or it might not....most likely NIT though.

Texas is still in the top 25 in the Coaches Poll...has to be the longest slowest fall from #1 ever...from 17-0 and #1 to 22-7 and #25....I'm not sure why we are still ranked. Looks like we'll be some where around a #7 seed. If we lose at Baylor and lose in the 1st round of the B12 tourney...maybe lower seed. Only way we get a higher seed is by finishing on a strong run to at least the semifinals or finals of the B12 tourney...and even then I don't see how we could get higher than a pipe dream #5.

Tennessee is Finishing up with Arkansas at home tomorrow night and at Mississippi State on the 6th. MSU has an almost identical record as ours but they are the top team in the SEC West. I have no idea where we will be seeded. We played the #1 ranked team in the nation twice: won 1 and lost 1. We played the #2 team and won. Our under staffed team did well this year. We will finish with between 21 and 23 wins.

Buckeyes are in great shape after wining home final tonight against Illinois.

The win sets us up for at least a share of the Big Ten title and a #1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.

Purdue and MSU have one game left and should win out for a three way tie with Ohio State.

Depending on what happens in the tournament, we may very well capture a #2 seed and no worse than a #3.

Purdue has two games left...PSU away and IU at home.

Rough row to hoe with Hummel gone. Somebody has to step up but didn't happen Sunday against MSU. Ugly game.

If the Gators miss the NCAA's for the 2nd year in a row, how unhappy are the Gator basketball fans?

Gators are not used to losing at anything. I can just imagine the mood:

    Imagine there's no tourney
    It's easy if you try
    No Georgia below us
    Above us the UT Guys
    Imagine all the people
    Living thru yesterday

    Imagine there's no victories
    It isn't hard to do
Nothing to live or die for
    And no Gator chomp too
    Imagine all the Gators
Living life for one more win

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday we'll come back
And the world will be as one

    Imagine no big players
    I wonder if you can
    No need for early tickets
We're here to watch the band
    Imagine all the fans
    Sharing all the pain

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday we'll come back
And the world will be as one

Damn I can't have a gun in this country but there is a Guiness to be found anywhere and everywhere. As long as I can't pack, I think I'll just sit here and drink.

    Good creativity Tom....

The Gators would miss the tourney for the third year in a row if they miss this year.

Last year UF was the last team left out and if they miss this year would most likely be the last team out again. I think the resume is stronger this year so you never know.

Have to hope for no upsets in mid-major tourneys.

According to the NCAA Dancecard prediction formula, Florida is 97% sure to get a bit... RIGHT NOW.

If they stay on course they will be in.

They only have one game left and it is on Kentucky's home court. Not a mountain to overcome but more than a mole hill.

No chance vs. the Cats in Lexington this season.

UF needs to win at least one SEC tourney game....maybe two.

The Aggies dismantled Ok St. last night, so we're on our way to a good finish.

Very nice job of coaching this season by Mark Turgeon... our team has improved nicely this year, and overcame the loss of Derrick Roland to a NASTY broken leg back in December...

Irish had an excellent win at home vs UConn, but we are still fighting to even get to the bubble. Final game is vs Marquette at Milwaukee if we were to win that and win 2 games in the BE tourney I think that might be enough. But still if I were going to Vegas I'd put my money on another NIT.

    Scott,

It does seem like Turgeon is settling in at A&M, I think there were some questions when he first took over, esp after the Billy G's recruiting and on the court success. How is his recruiting going?

Speaking of Billy G, I wouldn't be shocked to see Tom Penders get fired at U of H after the season and Billy G be hired. Did BG finally admit he had a problem and get some help after the debacle at Kentucky?

Tennessee won both halves of the Arkansas game to hit the 22 win mark. On to Mississippi State and then the SEC tourney.

The Irish are in the last 8 out on the Dancecard, but it hasn't been updated for the Wednesday games yet, so we'll see how they look when it is.
Things are getting interesting for ND hoops fans...

Tom... it's always good to win BOTH halves! :D

Recruiting has been great. We haven't hit that transcendent player yet, but we've gotten top 15 classes since MT came in.

The injury to Roland was terrible, but some good did come of it.
Several of the young guys have been pushed into the lineup, and have responded well.

Billy G did actually admit that he had a problem and is supposedly getting help. I'm glad.
The guy is a great coach when he isn't surrounded by a bunch of prima-donnas.
I saw some rumors that Iowa St might be interested in him. I hope not... I don't want to face any team he's coaching in the XII.
Houston would be a great place for him. He recruits Texas VERY well...

I do not know if Ohio State having a nine day lay off prior to the quarter finals is good or bad. (Big Ten Tournament) We finished our regular season Tuesday night.

The guys can rest their legs, but will it effect their level of play? I guess one could argue either way.

Turner, Diebler, Buford and Lighty have been playing almost 40 minutes per game.

I'd worry about 9 days off, 3 or 4 days is always good. But unless you have some injuries that you need to heal it seems like playing on a regular basis is better.
