    Dave,

The established party's will never let this happen, they have too much to lose in the powergame....I would really like to see something similar but its going to take a real tea party and that would be called an act of terrorism according the patriot act...

    See my last post.

There may be some hope out there.......one day.

I'm listening now to this guy Evan Bayh on C-Span.

    It was an awesome speech.

I hope he runs for president one day......as a Centrist Party candidate. :!:

Let me see if I have this straight Dave.

When Bush was President he was blamed for everything that happened from the time he took office, including 9-11 which was less than 9 months after he took office. Not only that but because of the dispute in Florida he was finally declared winner way later than other presidents.

However now over a year after he came to office, Obama is not responsible for anything.

Glad you identified biased media though, just to bad you didn't put the New York Times right there at the top of the list.

You might want to ponder just why is it that Republicans won the Governorships in Virginia and New Jersey and won the vacant Senator seat in Mass. Also why their prospects are so good to make major gains this year.

You have a badly flawed logic.

Also glad to know you are listening to Bayh. He thought so much of the Democratic party that he quit without even telling the leadership.

Christie was elected here in NJ even though we have 700,000 more registered democrats than republicans and are a heavily unionized state.

Bill....you obviously are not reading what I have been saying....

However, if you think Obama is responsible for most of our plight then you were sleeping in the NC hills for most of this past decade.

Let me explain why I think it is so important to get this straight.

If you think Bush and company did everything right....that they were indicative of great government and you pine for a return to what they offered then I am very concerned if many voters feel the same way because this viewpoint fails to acknowledge the reality that the seeds of this Great Recession were sewn under W's watch or in some cases at least watered and nurtured under his watch.

I do not want a return to what brought us to where we are today. I do not want the Dems thinking they have the only solution....that the GOP has no ideas of any value.

I want what Evan Bayh wants......people in office governing for the people....the average American citizen as a whole....both sides of the aisle... and not for each and every special interest group and back room clubhouse buddy.

When one sides gloats and thinks it's the "winner"......then we all lose.

I thought the McCain was close to a middle of the road candidate. He lost to the leader of the most partisan administration I can ever remember. Wouldn't it be ironic if the person who wants bipartisan leadership in our government voted for the incumbent president?

Dave, you obviously didn't read or understand what I said.

And as to the North Carolina hills, I've only been here a little over two years.

I don't blame Obama for everything, I pointed out how hypocritical it is for the Dems to blame Bush when they started blaming him from day one, but over a year later refuse to take blame for anything.

Something like your approach where it comes to Bush.

50 years from now you and the Dems will still be blaming Bush.

Well maybe you won't be around to still be doing it, but the Dems probably will.

Interesting how much fear the tea party movement has instilled in both the dominant political parties.

The democrats fired away at first this summer, casting these moms and pops as radical extremists( See Dave's comment above ) and anarchists. Now the GOP is portraying them as traitors to the conservative party and sabateurs to the republican cause.

Yesterday at the CPAC convention in DC they cast a straw vote over their current choice of candidate to run in 2012 and Ron Paul won by a landlside. The republicans actually booed when the results were read.

I am on the cusp of revoking my republican affiliation and recasting as an independent or unaffiliated. I don't think they are as crooked as the democrats but they are much more inept and neither of them really represent my thoughts any longer. By the way, did you hear Glen Beck ripping the GOP at his keynote speech at CPAC? I'll bet they were rethinking their invitation to him.

Gipper.....didn't vote for Obama.....actually like McCain except I felt he was too connected to the GOP machine which was still in the back pocket of the previous W regime and then when he got Palin forced on him I knew I was right.

"over a year later refuse to take blame for anything."

Bill.....that may describe the Dems.....but it doesn't describe me as you alluded to in your first post in this topic.

MCG, I'm only telling you the impression you leave with me for your posts.

Perhaps others here read you different.

George, I didn't hear Glen Beck's speech, but I am not surprised at him knocking the GOP. I've been watching Beck fairly regularly at 5pm recently and have become more impressed with his thoughts.

Someone like him is needed to shake up our thought process.

I've had some similar thoughts about changing to Independent but just haven't pulled the plug.

Bill.....just because I don't kiss W's a** like so many have here doesn't mean I think Obama and the Dems are beyond criticism.

    "changing to Independent"

Seems to resonate more and more.

Count me in that group. If Bayh can get that upset there is hope that maybe some group/leader will step forward and guide this sinking ship down the middle of the channel.
