UF lost their DCoord who'd only been on the job a month to go back to the NFL as a position coach. Yesterday Texas A&M lost it's OCoord to go back to the NFL as a position coach. NFL coaches must be making a pretty good salaray and I wonder if they have some sort of retirement plan as well that the college coaches don't have. In an unrelated items. The NCAA has a new rule, let's call it the Muschamp Rule. If you are a "coach in waiting" then you are restricted in off campus recruiting just like the Head Coach would be under the "Charlie Weis" rule. Doesn't seem fair. Muschamp Rule
Terry, NFL coaches make a LOT more than their counterparts in college. I'm not sure about any other benefits, but the money is MUCH more...
I don't know where you got that idea AJ. We don't have assistants paid at the rate that Kiffin got his paid at Tennessee. But we do pay our successful coaches well. Terry, that rule about a coach in waiting is dumb in my opinion. I don't think Texas has any more coaches that other comparable programs so why should they have restrictions that other assistants don't have?
It actually puts Texas 1 down in terms of assistants on the road recruiting. It sucks as a rule, plus Muschamp is probably Mack's best recruiter.
