    With all the publicity about Gator recruiting the last week or so, Texas got commitments from two 5 * recruits today. LB Jordan Hicks and DE Jackson Jeffcoat.

    That is quite a haul for one day this late in the process.

    It's very unusual for the Longhorns to go that far from Texas for a player. While I'm not sure I think the last player we had from a midwestern state was a RB name Jim Bertelsen from Wisc. during Royals wishbone days.

    Interesting website. It chronicles the # of recruits each school gets LOI's from on Nat'l Signing date.

    In the B12 Texas has over the period shown, 2002-2010 signed the fewest number of recruits in the B12, while being one of the best programs in the B12. Iowa State over that same period has been the worst B12 program and signed the most number of recruits.
