Good game, both teams have moved the ball and scored on their first drive. Things have settled down a bit though. 14 - 14 just under 5 minutes to go in the half.
OK, I asked this in the previous topic but since Bill started this one, I'll copy and paste it here: OK... who's pulling for who to be the second team in the Super Bowl? For me, I think that New Orleans is the better of the two teams but I think Peterson poses the biggest problem for the Colt defense. Combine that with Meachem, a Tennessee boy on the Saints, I have to be pulling for: Who dat? Who Dat? Who dat gonna beat dem Saints! Go N.O.
There are Gators on both teams. I think I am for the Saints because they have never been there. But I am not going to be heartbroken if the Vikings win.
Between Bush, Peterson, and Harvin, who will get the trophy for most fumbles and most devastating fumble?
If the Saints win then only one team in existence at the time of the AFL-NFL merger will have not played in the Super Bowl. DIE YOU ETERNAL LOSER WILLIAM CLAY FORD
Like I said I will not be unhappy with either team. But I thought that interference call was an uncatchable ball. Oh well I think it will be a good game.
The defender had his back to the ball and took the WR down before the ball got there. That trumps everything else.
I guess so George, but I thought when the ball couldn't be caught there was no interference. Regardless the game is over, I would have just liked to see Minn get the ball once.
There wasn't a single stat category that the Vikes didn't beat the Saints in...except putting the ball on the ground. That final series by the Vikes will haunt them for a long time, when they got down to with in FG range, but a long FG, to have 2 weak running attempts and a penalty that lead to the terrible decision by Farve to throw the ball late over the middle across his body....just inexcusable.
I thought it was a really entertaining game to watch. As a matter of fact I thought both were good. I hope the Super Bowl turns out to be as good as either one of these games today.
In real time, watching the play live, I thought the same thing. But watching the replay, I thought that the way the defensive player smothered the receiver he prevented the receiver from getting to the ball. I believe it was a catchable ball.
AJ, this Cleveland team is a relatively new franchise. The original Cleveland franchise which was around for the merger is now the Baltimore Ravens, who have won a Super Bowl.
That's right. But we could also look at it that they just closed down for awhile for improvements right? They, along with Da Raiders, are the only franchises to leave their original city then come back. As of right now, we're down to the Browns, Lions, Jaguars and Texans that haven't been to the big show.
They didn't return. The original franchise is still in Baltimore. The current Cleveland Brown franchise originated in 1999 and could therefore be considered an expansion team.
