Full disclosure: I said I was rooting for Texas because I wanted a pecan pie, but in fact I picked Bama in our pick'em contest. Since I finished dead last and most of my picks were wrong, I figured that my pick was, in a way, a vote for Texas. Oh well. I still have Mrs. Wick's in Winchester, Indiana as my source for pecan pies.
I told my wife and Lloyd before the game that there was a possibility of another BAPP due to the thoughtful revision of my pick after I read that a BAPP might be sent to those loyal to the Longhorns. I was getting ready to go to bed in 3rd quarter when I heard by wife loudly clapping and whooping it up in the living room after Texas scored its first touchdown. (Lloyd was already in bed sleeping because of an exausting day at doggie day care.) Anne really is not a big football fan and usually only watches the Food Channel, Conan, or the Marxist propaganda on MSNBC so I guess the thought of a BAPP created a heightened interest in her for college football. I ended up watching the rest of the game and then got up at 5:30 to snowblow about 8 inches of snow off the driveway and sidewalk. Texas showed a lot of heart and it was a great game but I am dragging today. Now that I know a BAPP causes my spouse to participate in activities that she normally did not engage in regularly, would you be so kind as to send me a website link to that store, Terry?
Bobda, Since you obviously have the kind of sweet tooth I can relate to, you might be interested in knowing of the O&H Danish Bakery in Racine, WI, just a short distance south of you. Maybe you've already been there. You, Anne, and Lloyd could stop by on your way to/from Michigan or just drive there some afternoon. I'm not sure when or where I became aware of them, and I have yet to taste their product, but I've ordered them as gifts for family/friends in the past. Here is the link: O&H Danish Bakery, Racine, WI Terry, I also would appreciate the link to the BAPP site. I can never have too much information about where to find good food, especially desserts.
The Goode Company of Houston Tx is the maker of that BAPP. At Thanksgiving and Christmas they have to have a cadre of police to direct traffic around the stores for people coming to pick up a BAPP!! BAPP
Oh yeah FWIW, you can get the pie in something less than that wooden box but they don't guarantee the shipping unless you get the wooden box. You have to call to get that, or do like I did and go by and pick one up and ship it yourself.
For Larry, Hey Texas Hey Texas We just beat the hell outta you! Rammer Jammer Yellowhammer Give 'em hell Alabama Not a cheer I am particularly proud of, but the students love it.
Ahhh yes Larry... Rammer Jammer.. KP spelled it out well for you. Its one of the few divisive issues among Bama fans. A good many, like KP, find it beneath them... Other Bama fans sing this everywhere...games, rallies, baptisms If you wanna piss off other football fans in the South, you mention Rammer Jammer.... From last night's game.. I believe they used Longhorns instead of Texas though. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Keo1WMJ3AmQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Keo1WMJ3AmQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
It was a freak injury,,,,,,and Bama did what was necessary afterwards. The Tide made a statement that the title was theirs. Nothing to wish for here.
KP... <t>That is great stuff and awesome to hear. I'm no fan of Texas but they are used to that type stuff from the ATM in this part of the country. Part of what makes college football great.</t>
