ND's starting FB got a DUI last fall and was suspended from all extracurricular activities the semester including the bowl game. A true freshman played in his place. Jim Bob will sit out the season opener against CAL. Jim Bob's a grad student who didn't throw a pass in '05. Must be the week for SEC discipline. From Rivals.com According to a press release issued by the University of Alabama's media relations department Tuesday morning, two Crimson Tide football players have left the program. Head coach Mike Shula announced that sophomore linebacker Chris Keys has been dismissed from the team for violating team policy and that sophomore cornerback Travis Robinson will no longer attend the university. Keys played in each of UA's 11 regular season games as a true freshman last fall before being suspended for the Tide's Cotton Bowl win over Texas Tech. The Port Barre, La. native recorded five total tackles while working mostly on special teams in 2005. Keys moved from safety to outside linebacker late in the season. He missed all of this year's spring drills after fracturing his right fibula in a February altercation. Robinson redshirted last season after seeing action in five games as a true freshman in 2004. A back injury cut his rookie campaign short and he missed all of 2006 spring drills after tearing an ACL during Cotton Bowl practices in December.
There's a few in Austin that won't be back, combo of academics and bad behavior will trim the horns roster by a couple more, not including Ramonce Taylor.
