I'm disappointed there is nothing but BS internet rumors and no "strong" insight as to the next football coach at ND. Five full days in and zilch. I realize none of us are privy to what has or has not been done but it does concern me. Lets hope the wait is worth it as JS cannot take a called third strike on this one. Last nights Pac Ten title game was a beauty. Oregon-OSU should be a fun one to watch.[/b]
Not time to panic yet Larry. If Kelly is the choice, we shouldn't expect any announcement until early next week. In theory at least, there shouldn't be any contact with him until after his last game which is this weekend against Pitt. If we don't hear by next Wed. move over, I'm on the worry train with you.
It's hard to tell where this is going. Swarbrick on the record has said. 1. No Pro Coaches...no Gruden, Shanahan, Bill Cowher, Tom Coughlin, Bill Billick. 2. Proven College coaches only who have shown the abilty to build and maintain a Div 1 program. Well Kelly has built 2 good programs, but he was only at CMU for 3 years and this is his 3rd year at UC. So where does he get the "maintain" part of the equation? BTW: Oregon will get absolutely drilled by OSU. Book it.
It's probably best that it's kept low key. When the whole internet is following sometimes it gets to be to much. Here's an article about Phil Fulmer being interested. Phil Fulmer
