The Temple player just had the ball ripped from his grasp. The Ohio player that caused the fumble has the ball fall into his chest. The Temple player then falls to the ground with the Ohio player covering the ball. The official calls the Temple player down. Ohio challenges the call. the replay shows conclusive evidence of the ball falling out of the Temple player's hands before he even starts to fall to the ground. The replay booth confirms the call on the field. The announcers are saying, while the replay booth is viewing the play, that there is no way that this is not reversed. "I've seen close ones not reversed but there is no way this one is not reversed". After the call that the play stands as called on the field, one of the announcers asked the other, how could they blow a call this badly? There ought to be a review board that fires officials that blow replay calls. I can understand missing a call at full speed while running to the play on the field. Sitting in a warm replay booth watching the same replays I am seeing, there is no excuse for this. Please tell me a reason for this happening other than criminal intent.
