    Terry, it was after the last regular season game for Utah that Meyer accepted the job.

    Then he coached them in the bowl game.

    I agree with you Don.

    Corey, MCG was referring to how Meyer was signed from Utah to go to Florida not from Bowling Green.

    But no matter, it's not surprising to me that some fans from Bowling Green and Utah don't like Meyer. However the reality of life is that people look to move up in their professions. Every head coaching job Meyer has taken has been a move up for him.

    I can live with those fans not liking him, with Notre Dame fans not liking him, with Lane Kiffin not liking him and all others out there that want to throw bricks at him for not liking him.

    Gators love him, think that the moves he made before becoming a Gator were logical and believe him when he says he's staying in Gainesville.

    I hope Notre Dame gets a good coach that leads them back to the promised land and we might meet in the BCS Championship game one year.

    There's a lot of ugliness out there, Bill, and it comes right into our living rooms via the internet. When you are on top, you are a convenient target, as is Meyer. I've never seen or heard anything which tells me other than that he is a class guy and an excellent coach. Unfortunately, the majority always tends to be silent, and the vocal minority gets all the air time.

    Stu: Re Weis... He's a good man. He's been attacked (which kinda comes with the territory), but so has his family (which should not) since he took the job. The attacks on him have been personal and ugly. They have existed since Day 1 of him on the job. We can debate whether or not he brought that on himself, but I am firmly of the belief that those who are casting the ugly barbs were in the 'Ty is my guy' camp in the media. He's done so many things right. The job was occupied by 2 assholes in a row. Bob Davie was a back-stabber. That's not conjecture, it's court documented testimony. Ty Willingham is a bad person who literally loafed on the job and would rather golf then tend to recruiting...even when the recruits came to him. Charlie immediately destroyed a lot of popular media myths about ND and did so in convincing fashion. The two things he didn't do was develop the talent he recruited and win..I wish the reality was different, but you have to do those 2 things. Other than those 2 knocks, I don't have a single bad word to say about the man. Honestly, I really like Charlie and it hurts that it didn't work out.

    Sid/Bill,

    I have an issue with guys who lie to kids in the recruiting process. Of course, you can always say he didn't say those things.. but then you're calling the kids liars. You pick. I don't really care how he left either job.

    As you know, I have taken exception to people who claim Myer is loved everywhere he went. In fact, it is the exact opposite. Other top coaches have left 'lower level' jobs but aren't as hated. I wonder why?

    Myer is probably a decent enough guy.. I just don't care for his 'say anything' approach to recruiting. To each their own.

    Sid, thanks.

    Corey, just let me say this, whoever the Gator coach was you would take issue. So take issue till your heart is content.

    Wow Corey, ain't that wonderful. The one coach that the Gators have had since 1990 who was a bad coach and you didn't take issue with him. That's shows what a big heart and open mind you have. :) That's kind of like me saying that the only coach Notre Dame has had that I don't have an issue with is Willingham.

    By the way since you don't have any issues with Zook, propose that Notre Dame hires him, I think you could get him cheap.

    I don't get the Trattou comment Corey. MCG's comment was in lying to players just how was he lied to.

    He is not a full time starter by the way. But while at Florida has started at both DE and DT. From all I can tell he's happy to be a Gator so I don't really get the context of that comment.

    She looks a wee bit Irish as well, I think that white patch on her head is somewhat in the shape of a shamrock. :shock:

    Francessa doesn't usually throw out stuff unless he has close sources. Then I read Kelly today said don't listen to rumors. IDK, I don't want Charlie gone but I even feel now that he is gone Sunday too. They will have signed one of the four....Stoops, Meyer, Kelly, Patterson, likely one of the last two.

    <r>God, this is a mess already and CW hasn't been officially fired! <br/>
    <br/>
    Come on guys, Meyer is not coming to ND. You all know I personally can't stand the guy but why would he leave Florida for ANY other school right now? <br/>
    <br/>
    The media just loves this crap. It's like...."Oh, lets go ask him again if he's going to ND so we can hear him say no" <br/>
    <br/>
    <br/>
    The next coach isn't Meyer, or Gruden, or Stoops, or etc., etc., etc, ............it's Brian Kelly. bank it!!! Lock it up!!! <E>8)</E></r>

    Terry, I think that look from Cheri' is, what the heck is all this coach talk about.:)

    I can believe Charlie being let go Sunday, but I don't think you will have a coach until at least the regular season is over.

    Best of luck though.

    I saw a post at Irish Illustrated that made me howl. The guy said that Clausen was out with some players from the team. The guy who sucker punched him ran through the D-line players and once he got past them the guys from the secondary couldn't catch him. All the while Clausen was trying to chase the guy but Sam Young was holding him.
