Nah....just kidding. Anyone want to debate the Heisman race? I wonder how many TDs Tebow pads the stats with on Sat.? Of course isn't Ingram playing the Choo Choo? He oughta do pretty good himself. I have read where Scripps-Howard has it down to Tim and Mark. I would be disappointed if any voter sent their ballot in before the SECCG is concluded. Go Tim!!!
AJ.....Tim's not done yet. He usually eats FSU up and this year's game marks his last as a Gator in the Swamp and the noles defense is atypically atrocious. I think it's all on the line vs. Alabama and if either Ingram or Tebow shines against the other's defense they will win the Heisman trophy no question. P.S......don't think this fact is lost on Spikes.
George, the justification is that the NCAA put the 12 game in and there is not much available this time of year. Also it is before the FSU game and we aren't going to schedule a top 10 team this time of year. Also they are a Div 1 team. This year they played Alabama, Rutgers, Troy in addition to Florida. They are in the Sunbelt conference and have improved to the point that hey are 3-3 in the conference. I think they would give Navy a hard time, or even beat them.
Doubtful, but I understand why they are on the schedule. I don't blame you for not scheduling a good opponent in this slot. The whole 12th game has been a complete flop IMHO, virtually everybody in college football has used it to schedule some palooka like FIU or Eastern Illinois.
I doubt it too Terry, however I think it made as much sense as George's comment. FIU has come a long way under their new coach but should be no problem to the Gators.
George, it won't be a good game from the standpoint of both teams having a chance to win. As often as you go to Florida I have to admit to being a bit surprised you've never heard about FIU. Florida International University. They are a state college, their main campus is located in Miami on Tamiami Trail west of downtown Miami, they also have a campus in north Dade County right on Biscayne Bay. Their enrollment is over 40,000. They have a pretty good athletic program and Isiah Thomas is their basketball coach. Yes that Isiah Thomas of midwest, Indiana, Big 10, NBA fame and former head coach and GM of the New York Knicks. Their football coach is Mario Cristobal, who is the first Cuban American head football coach. He played at the University of Miami and was a coach there under Larry Coker. Here's some links. Bill, now that you mentioned it, in driving north from the Keys this May I think I noticed that name on a building right next to I-95 in the Miami area. Good luck and I hear next year Indian River CC has a date open. 8)
Texas top non-conf game this year was Wyoming. I do give them credit though for at least traveling to Wyoming. But the rest is embarassing. Louisana-Monroe, UTEP, UCF. I think they should just call it what it is an exhibition schedule and not even count the games.
Oh yeah....ask Bobda how he feels about AppSt and Toledo and MSU fans about CMU and Colorado fans about Toldeo for that matter when the Rockets hung 54 on Dan Hawkin's squad in Sept. this year. Sometimes....s*** happens
You don't have to use *** if you substitute with defecation occurs and contrary to the belief of the 1987 Nashville Tennessee legislature, it means the same thing. 8)
Do you think the Gators defense has played anybody this year who has a really good offense? Seems like when I look at your schedule you haven't really played a good offense. Tenn certainly wasn't when you played them, So Carolina isn't a particularily good offense, neither is Kentucky and FSU won't even have their #1QB when you play them. I don't even think you'll play a good offense in SECCG, McElroy started out good but hasn't been much above average since then. Probably first good offense you'll play this year is in the Bowl game if Texas makes it.
