Memorial Stadium in Lincoln before the North and South stands were added. You can tell it's in Nebraska because there's not a tree in site. Arbor day really hadn't taken effect yet. :lol:

Yeah, I did a right click and discovered it was Nebraska.

But that was cheating and AJ knows for sure.

 

I would have guessed Ohio State..

 

I had no idea but I saw a guess of ND stadium. I could have shot that down because of the two levels of seating.

 

Ohio Stadium was built as a horseshoe to start with in 1922;

 

When I first saw that photo I thought it might be Kyle Field or Memorial Stadium in Austin. I couldn't find any photo's though. Memorial Stadium in my day at Texas was a horseshoe but had no upper decks. There was a track around the football field and the high jump pit was behind the endzone. When you were in the endzone you were a long way from the field.

I also attended some games at Kyle in the early 60's and I don't think it had endzone seats, at that time. It also had no upper decks. Also lots of parking in the fields around it on gameday. Good tailgating.

 

This is what Kyle Field will look like someday! I wish I could find a photo of Kyle in 1960-64
