Not a whole lot of buzz for bball signing day....but I like what I'm hearing! 8) Basketball Team Recruiting Leaderboard Rank School Conf. Commits Avg. Rating Top 25 Prev. Rank 1. I'm not familiar enough with any of these kids to say for sure.....however, in hoops, it's virtually impossible to have a top ranked class without at least one of the kids having the tools to be a lottery pick if he establishes his game as a frosh.....with the amount of guaranteed money, if a kid is going to be a lottery pick he's gotta go. On a related note, during the offseason, Greg Oden is continuing his progress towards his degree and is great kid and a full-fledged member of the Buckeye Nation. I've got no problem with any of it.....
If you were ranking a recruiting class...should you give more weight to a sure one (or two) and done, or to a top 100 guy who is likely to be with the team for 4 years? I heard Purdue's class was ranked 14 by somebody.
I don't know where ND's class is ranked, doubt if it's in the top 25. We however sign Jerian Grant the son of former NBA player Harvey Grant. He was the 19th rated small forward. Also 2 other guards, both good players by ND standards. We're sort of a mid-major these days in basketball.
Stu, Purdue is getting some great kids from Indiana who are committing as HS sophs and juniors. I can't recall details, but every once in a while I read about another Indiana HS all-star type of kid who has committed to Purdue.
