Going to be short because I didn't really see much besides the ND game and part of the Iowa/IU game. But from what I read. 1. Good thing LeGarrette Blount wasn't in the lineup sat for Oregon might have been a knockout instead of a take down for Oregon! You ever wonder who decides which of the 32 uniform combinations Oregon is going to wear for a game? USC loss will probably mean that the PAC10 will get 2 teams in the BCS, unless there are some more upsets in the PAC10. 3. Arizona keeps on keeping on. 4. Texas looks like they should have a clear road now to the BCS, I don't see them losing to another team on the schedule nor in the B12 Championship game. Of course I just probably jinxed them! 5. Upset of the week in the B10 was going to be IU, but instead it has to be the Illinois win over UM. I had Illinois as dead for the season, apparently they didn't get the message. 6. IU coach really is animated on the sidelines isn't he when the replay refs are reviewing a crucial play for his team isn't he? He might have good reason, doesn't seem like he's gotten one to go his way yet. 7. Can a great player like Tebow be given the Heisman based on his career achievments when he already has a Heisman? 8. Irish looked great, if that Hail Mary by Clausen to Tate wasn't the play of the weekend I don't know what was, of course I might be biased! Charlie finally gets to relax as the end of the game, but there was a price to be paid. One of our best OL's was on crutches at the end of the game and our backup QB of the future might not get to play again this year. Like I said I didn't see as much so I'll need you guys to fill in the blanks. Terry
9) Looks like Tennessee may have turned the corner with the confidence of Jonathan Crompton. Next in line is Memphis at home then off to Ole Miss. From my perspective, it appears that Ole Miss is getting worse while Tennessee is getting better. That should be a good close game... but we have to get past Memphis first.
Congrats on the win Tom. I of course didn't see the game, but a great win. What's with the uniforms? Did the Vols wear special uniforms for Halloween?
Obviously they were already there, but it was a game time decision. The players wanted to wear them and Kiffin gave in. Hamilton Says that we will not likely see them again... or at least not very soon. Probably saved for every other year against South Carolina.
7a) Can Georgia be this bad? Both Tennessee and Florida had their way with them worse than a sailor treats a two bit whore while on shore leave.
Post a photo, since I didn't see the game I'm not sure what exactly is being referred to here. Where the uniforms controversial, you comment makes it seem so, if so were they bad looking or just too different from traditional Vol uniforms?
Interesting. I like the Jersey's, since I didn't see the whole outfit on TV can't really say how it looked. But I still say your pants look different than they have in years past, can't quite put my finger on it but they do. I like the old pants better.
Biggest thing to come out of our game with NMSU is the cheap shot to our kicker.....NMSU kid throws low at the knees of our kicker during a kickoff return and he's likely done for the year with PSU, Iowa and M coming up.....unbelievable.....nobody saw, no flags, no nothing. HUGE loss for us ..... cheap a$$ mf'er.....
Not good to go into the biggest games of the season, ones that will likely be very tight defensive contests without your best kicker.
I didn't see this, but supposedly Terry Bradshaw said this on the Fox NFL show. Also some writer for the L.A.Times wrote an article saying that he thinks there is a conspiracy amongst the conferences and their officals to protect their top teams. Reason is of course money, they all want 2 BCS bowl teams and they want the officals to give the top teams which are candidates for the BCS to get every break possible.
But yet Jeff was chastised by the Gator contingent for suggesting such. I don't believe everything I read in these bird cage liners but there is a possibility here.
Well, I still have faith in Rich Rod but I never realized how cold the North Atlantic is this time of year. I can't feel my legs and I guess I'll need to revise my prediction of a 9-3 season before the water level gets any higher.
It seems that after so many years of MCG complaining about officials and getting no where now maybe he's been on the right side all along? The crew that got suspended that called the Arkansas - Gator game got suspended because they did a poor job two times, Georgia - LSU and Florida - Arkansas. But it's nice to know that perhaps poor old MCG may have had a point all along.
I was thinking the same thing Bill. Probably only recently has Florida elevated itself into the higher echelon of the SEC and gained the real respect of the conference powers that be and the good ole boy network that used to run the conference. I truly don't think Spurrier ever really got there in spite of his success with UF and then Zook came along and it appeared the Gator might return to it's cave for awhile but now with Meyer's dominance the rest of the SEC realizes Florida isn't going away anytime soon. Frankly.....just like the auto unions.....I will bet the old heirarchy and power structure in the SEC has had an infusion of younger people anyway who see things more from a business standpoint than as a fraternity in which they protect their own at all costs and change is bad. In other words.....if Florida is being protected instead of held down I like that a lot. I do believe that years ago there were times when it appeared that the opposite was true. Gotta go now......I hear those black helicopters out on my front lawn..... 8)
During Spurrier's era as coach at Florida we were always one of the most penalized teams. There are coaches whose teams always seem to be penalized then coaches whose teams seem to always be less penalized. I've seen successful coaches on both sides of that equation. No doubt I'm showing my age here, but Don Shula's teams were always among the least penalized in the NFL. On the other hand the Okland Raiders were always among the most penalized. Yet those two teams were always in the playoffs and won several championships. I think that both Meyer and Saban fit into the category of coaching teams that minimize penalties. I hope you enjoyed the black helicopter ride Tom, it may be one my son maintained. But fear not he's a Cain fan.
Doesn't that go hand in hand? Besides as you recall I didn't go along with him either, the calls he thought were bad I pretty much agreed they were bad but I never said, or felt, they were overtly intentional like some folks are now saying.
Bill, that was uncalled for. There is a HUGE difference in someone seeing a trend developing over several games involving different teams and someone that claims "The refs always screw us" and now claims: My observations involve the refusal of replay to overturn bad calls. It is not just the fact that there are bad calls. That screams of conspiracy. Poor old MCG. So mistreated.
