BREAKING NEWS: This just in.....Obama wins the Heisman Trophy after watching a college football game !

Couldn't resist. The humor transcends politics IMO. This kind of topic does not beg a reply, and it would be understandable if if the moderators would choose to move it to the back room.

It was sent to me by a friend who did not cite any sources. He's clever enough to have thought of this on his own, so I'll attribute it to him. He shall remain nameless.

"The NCAA reported today that President of the United States, Barak Obama, has been awarded the Heisman Trophy. While the award is usually bestowed upon college football's most talented offensive player, the NCAA this year took a different approach.

"He's a heck of a basketball player and we saw him throwing a ball really well to his dog Sasha earlier this year in the Rose Garden" stated Aaron Duckandcover, Awards Director for the NCAA.

Responding to critics of this years surprise choice, Duckandcover went on: "It has nothing to do with actual on-the-ground accomplishments. This award is intended to give hope to all the athletes and non-athletes of the world; hope that even in the absence of real performance, they too can be given awards for their good intentions, future promise and current popularity."

President Obama was unavailable for comment as he was back in the Rose Garden having a smoke."

Yes, it's been awhile. And yes, we did meet at a ND game where I met quite a few of you guys. We ate at Mishawaka Brew Co. and I had one of the best shepherds pies I have ever had.

I have trolled these boards for years just typically don't have much to say but it's been a great source of information. I had to step away for awhile back when some Gonzo (Hurricane Homer) was posting and got me a little fired up and I put a little too much energy into it.

I remember, was it a Purdue game? I think gipper did the tailgate.

The MBC is closed now unfortuneately. But you can still buy 4 Horsemans Ale in South Bend. :)

Believe it or not, Tom, it wasn't JO'Co, although it certainly could have been. It was a friend who lives in DC but is not involved in government. He's in the advertising business.
Great stuff, TG2. Welcome! Glad to have another Gentry on board.

I know it wasn't a Purdue game but I think it was an Oklahoma game. It's a bummer about MBC. I was thinking of going there this weekend after the game.
