The Vols have made this a game, they just need one more quarter though, 4 is not going to be enough.

REC, I made a joke about it taking us 5 quarters to get started... not so much a joke anymore. I am extremely proud of my team. They can't even spell "Surrender".

I am waiting for the talking heads to reverse what they have been saying all week. It won't happen so to hell with them too!

Congrats to Florida. Great win for your program.

The post game interview with Kiffin was priceless! The look on his face did not agree with his words. The look on his face said: "Get the F#$% out of my face with your stupid questions C#$%."

Great game to watch. If there is such a thing as a moral victory... that was one!

First let me say congrats to the Gator fans.

It was a really good game. I'm so pleased with the progress of this Tennessee team. They did not quit at any point today. In years past that would have happened early. This was not the beat down that was predicted on all sides and anyone who took the Florida to cover the points is crying in their beer. I think the SEC was put on notice today that Tennessee Football is back. Maybe not this year but as better players get to campus this staff CAN coach them. I hope the Tennessee football team sings Rocky Top tonight. They deserved it. I am glad we have the coaches we have. They will make life interesting very soon I think and it won't be just for the trash talking, even though I think there will be plenty of that

    Tom,

I was impressed with this Vol team taking the trip to the Swamp and playing tough. I was amazed on how well your team ran against UF and their fleet of returning starters. I expected more pizzaz and productivity from Tebow's offense and have to wonder if playing the two girl scout teams did not hurt them. It's a bit different when the other team runs as fast and hits as hard as you do.

Congrats to the Gators with the win but Tennessee showed a lot...

Thanks Ralph. This team just raised my hopes for the rest of the year. To go in and play tough with an obvious giant makes you tougher down the road.

Didn't see the game of course but I'm one of those who thought it was going to be a UF beatdown. That Tenn defense must have been pretty stout today. I guess Monte Kiffin does know a thing or two about defense.

    Congrats to the Gators.

Like many others, the game was closer than I anticipated.

Tennessee defense looked good and they were able to rush the ball.

    Congratulations to the Gators.

I just got back to my daughters house from the game.

Tennessee's defense is really good, if they could improve their offense a little then they may win more games and have a successful season.

I'm watching Arkansas and Georgia in a shootout right now, 42 - 35 Georgia win 2:16 left in the 3rd quarter and Arkansas on the Georgia 6. They may both score 60.

Anyway, Tennessee played a good game and when they got a Tebow fumble and scored in the 4th quarter it gave me some anxious moments.

Congratulations Vol fans you have a good base to build upon.

First....my true feelings will get me praise on the one hand and some hot water on the other.

    The good for UT:

Great defensive talent as I already knew was coached up by a great defensive coordinator in Monte Kiffin and the Vols showed hope for the future with a 23-13 loss in which I had predicted all week would be a 23-10 score so I knew what I was talking about. Offensively the Vols managed a little over 200 yards of offense and were stymied all day except for the touchdown drive which was......and here we go....

"the bad"......aided immeasurably by the celebration penalty levied on the UF defender when the Gators had them sacked on third and long.
It was a very ticky tack call that the denizens of the Swamp booed lustily but were willing to forget until a Tenn player minutes later had an even greater display of taunting/celebration that went ignored completely by the refs. That was a typically SEC B/S application of the rules and affected the final scoring margin directly. There were a ton of radio call ins last night in Gainesville complaining about the inconsistent officiating and man I personally just hate to see it because it did not determine the winner of this game but the potential is always there for the men in stripes to directly influence the outcome of a game and I hate that....as you know....more than anything about college football.

Otherwise....a good job by Tenn of hanging around even though they never had the lead and UF was never really threatened because Tenn was obviously not able to throw the ball down field when the situation cried out loud for it.

Tenn does have a lot to hope for and that's good for the SEC in my opinion and good for the Vol-Gator rivalry. Now....Go Vols.....go and beat up Georgia and Alabama....

I win the under bet!!! I winnnnnnnnn the under bet!!!!!!

Someone who will remain nameless contacted me to bet on how long it would take for you to get on here complaining about the refs. I win a moral victory for the Tennessee team making a valiant effort and minimal mistakes. I win the under bet in determining just how long it would take for your true colors to shine!!!!!

....operative word here. You must have some inner justification for making such a bet....must have seen something occur yesterday that made you think I would have an argument to make.

Anyway....congratulations on a well played game.

Next year should be interesting in Knoxville with Tebow and a host of other Gators gone to the NFL.

I watched the entire game and the only problem I had was where the refs missed the Tenn player doing about the same thing that the UF player did minutes earlier. I actually thought that the taunting was more pronounced with the Tenn player but it doesn't matter. These taunting calls are pretty ridiculous in my opinion...

I didn't see either player do something that appeared to be in your face taunting and I agree the Tenn player's display was more vigorous and pronounced than was the UF defender's actions.

If they are going to make these asinine calls then they need to be as consistent as possible and call em on both sides.

Congrats to the Gators on a solid win. They may want to be a little concerned. That might possibly be the greatest Gator team ever and they had their hands full with a rebuilding Vols squad that figures to go nowhere but up from here.

    This I disagree with.

The Vols never showed offensively that they could compete in the game managing only 200 yards total and effectively being stopped on their only TD drive only to get new life by a B/S call.

Special teams were a Gator's advantage as well.

Defensively....yes Tebow and the Gators "had their hands full" but that is probably a top 5 defense that MK is putting on the field in my opinion.

Last year's "had their hands full" game resulted in a loss so if this was that game I'll take a 10 point win over an SEC East rival any day over that one.

You were able to stack the LOS and dare them to throw... 2 things come to mind..

    1. They still managed good yardage early on even with 3rd and long conversions on the ground.

    2. If they get a QB to wing it, you're screwed.

Crompton or any Qb they put back there would have faced very good pressure and the Wrs had a hard time shaking the UF Dbs so it was not just about the talent at Qb. Crompton didn't have much time to throw down field and neither did Tebow for that matter as pressure on the Qb was a Tenn strongsuit on defense yesterday.

No... I saw something in the last ten plus years of griping about officials win or lose. That was an easy win. Before the game started, I would have given 100:1 odds that refs would be blamed for something. It was as easy as betting on the sun coming up this morning.
