What have I told you about thinking?    The guy you are referring to is Nick Lamaison and he has not been in the program long enough to know half the playbook. If he knew only 1%, he would be a better choice to start against the Gators. If you see #19 trotting out to the huddle, you'll hear that rebel yell all the way to Houston!
Even the big gators can get "bagged & tagged" when they least expect it... But this ain't gonna be one of those days.... Gators cover the spread by large margins..... 8) RC
I'm going to hope for the best and prepare for the worse. I guarantee everyone in my hotel will be singing ROCKY TOP by the end of the night if we get the "DUBYA" commonly known as the "W". First thing Saturday Morning I'm going to put my TN throwback Jason Witten Jersey, and get ready for some SEC football. Hopefully by the end of the night I have a reason to sing Rocky Top other than showing state pride. not to mention Kiffin singing at the swamp!!
Spoken like a true Gator instead of a supposedly unbiased writer: http://www.cbssports.com/columns/story/12211283 In any event I agree even a major beatdown won't change his brashness. If the beatdown occurs the Vols need to hope the players don't backlash on LK for getting UF all fired up.
LOL!! Now that you mention it, we had take out from a German resturant the other day (The Hub) and the Dogs were extra attentive to the Schnitzel vice the Cheeseburger Taylor had....and he's the one that feeds them!
Here's another view: http://www.cbssports.com/columns/story/12211286 My take is that Lane Kiffin is good for Tenn and their attempt at resurgence to becoming a program that matters. His approach may not work ultimately but it seems feasible that he may pull it off. Like the author of the article I don't think abject failure in the Swamp this Sat. will derail his efforts permanently and on the contrary if the Vols are competitive and lose by 10-14 points it WILL count as a moral victory for Kiffen and UT fans will deep down feel the same way and give Kiffin some brownie points for doing so. I'll stay with 23-10 Fla but hope for more.
oh no no no no no no no no you dont get off the hook like that... anything less than a 4 TD whoopin and this is a glowing positive for UT. Since Kiffen opened his mouth for the first time, the talking heads have all been assuring us that the mighty Gators are going to put a world class beat down on them... It's time to walk the walk. It's either a beat down, or its a media win for the Vols.
I can't see a good outcome for the Vols in this game. The Gators are jacked, they are good, they are at home, the crowd will be jacked and pumped. Vols just lost at home to a team with far less talent than the Gators and at home. Given the history for Compton, you'd have to figure that the Gator defense will come after him very hard. I don't know how big a win the Gators will get, but I'd just be shocked if it wasn't by 4 TD's or more. Of course now that I've said that, the Vols will show grit and resolve, the Gators will be overconfident, Tebow will go down early and it'll be a close game.
Terry, You need to check your notes before yu submit. You left the 0 off of the 40 TDs. :? I have less confidence in Crompton than he has in himself... if that's possible.
"going to put a world class beat down on them... It's time to walk the walk." It is time to walk the walk....for both Kiffen and the Gators. We'll see who does.
FLORIDA: CHAR SO. - W TROY - W TENN - L KY - W LSU - L ARK - W MISS ST. - W GEROGIA - W VANDY - W S.C. - W FLA INT - W FSU - W 378 PTS.
Just as Tenn and LK have been trying to tone it down this week UF and Meyer have never really responded in kind. I'm hoping the answer is given on the field Sat......
I'm also hoping we don't go through weeks and months up chest thumping if and when the Gators win. This situation is far different from the percieved disrespect you got in SE Mich the year you played OSU for the NC.
Kiffen has a lot of time to 'walk the walk'... by Kiffen opening his mouth, all he did was put Tennessee in the sports headlines during the slow time of the year before the recruiting process coming off a TERRIBLE season for UT. And also from the moment he opened his mouth, the talking heads have been talking about the massive smack down the Gators are going to lay on the Vols for him saying that stuff. The Gators have done nothing to quiet down those expectations. I'll be interested to see if the Gators can drop a 50+ beat down on them like the experts expect.
