Not only did he screw up the finish of his college career, he followed that up by getting fat and sloppy for the combine. Then he gets drafted by the Bungles who put in a weight clause to try and keep him under 350lbs, then he holds out through most of training camp and when he finally comes in he breaks his foot in some non-contact drill. Oh yeah this kid is going to be great. Andre Smith
Geez this guy is a Matt Millen type of guy. He'd be hanging with Mike Williams (if he was still with the team) and be partying with Charles Rogers (if he was still with the team.) This guy has Lions first round written all over him.
That's is just wrong that these kids get so much money up front and they haven't done a thing to prove they are worth it. While most certainly try very hard to justify their money, it's still something that the NFL needs to try and get under control.
If anyone has watched the HBO series "Hard Knocks" that covers the pre-season camps for the Bengals, you know of what I speak... Ocho Cinco is absolutely high comedy and is not the jerk he's portrayed to be. Carson Palmer is a funny, funny guy. That whole team is just a walking comedy skit. I'd highly recommend watching it if you get a chance to see it.
No wonder the Bengals drafted him.... he's fat, out of shape and injured. And his last official act in College was to be suspended. A perfect fit. And Paul Brown spins in his grave.......
Andre Smith is the embodiment of the entitlement mentality that many of today's athletes have. Although I don't know his motives, and realize his agent surely played a role in the holdout, his trac record does bode well for a Cincinatti Bengal. The only person that makes Smith look like Einstein is Crabtree, whose logic for holding out defies stupidity. Just remember though, Crabtree and Smith are just trying to feed their families...
Welcome VZ! I disagree with your premise.... I blame the teams first and foremost, then the agents. I assign the least amount of blame on the kids who are young, stupid and naieve. And you can't blame anyone for taking as much as these idiotic teams are willing to throw at them.
Alright....that's what we need around these parts...more doses of B12 Welcome Aggie....as you can already tell, I represent the B12 North side of things here by being an Iowa St. homer...
