I didn't realize that Pryor was that good of a passer as a freshman. He didn't look it against Texas in the bowl game. But that was just one game. Talented kid, we'll see how he grows this year! Terry
No question about it.....Coach T will pull out all the stops to shut down the running game amd make the kid beat us with his arm then show him a heavy dose of blitzers from every angle, from every level....I see a low scoring game with a heavy dose of leather. Not for the faint of heart.....
Hey MCG since you live down in Fla, can you confirm that the marquee game between FSU and Miami isn't even a sellout at this time?
I am going to say it is not a sellout. FSU was advertising season ticket specials on the radio a few weeks ago. Mediocre team = mediocre ticket sales.
They have a big stadium also...they allot plenty of tickets for the visiting teams....about 40,000 if I remember right for NU in 2000.... OOOOOHHHHHHH....The Train has tracks straight to South Bend Baby!!!
Hey if you can sell your tickets to a farmer for 10x their face value...shouldn't you? Aren't sheep meant to be sheared? But hey that was one of the things that makes that game legendary, an exciting game, with big plays by both teams. Joey Getherals punt return and Julius Jones kickoff returns were as exciting as I've seen. Game goes to OT and future Heisman trophy winner Eric Crouch beats us with another great play. Irish had to play most of the game with their starting QB (Arnaz Battle) having broken his hand in the 1st qtr but wouldn't tell the trainers.
Ouch! I'll never forget that game. I was there. Through the luck of the draw, I had two tickets smack dab on the visitors side 50 yard line about 2/3 of the way up from the field. I refused to sell them to the opposition regardless of the market. I gave them to my son and daughter. My wife and I sat in the south end zone. Prior to the game, I saw an unusually large number of Nebraska folks walking around campus. They were great, just like Indiana folks. As I approached my seat inside the stadium, I looked around and saw red all over the place. In fact, red was the dominant color throughout the stadium. I've never been madder. Ever since then, I've believed that at least 40-50% of the people who attend ND games and call themselves fans really are whores who will sell out if the price is high enough. Whoever those people are, I've never forgiven them.
Miami seldom sells out and FSU has been struggling to see their tickets the last few years. I don't think the Gators have 300 straight sell outs, but it's a bunch. It is, and has been, very difficult to get Gator season tickets for some time. I remember some Gator fans buying FSU season tickets to get to see that game when we played them there. So their fans aren't that rabid either. But hey, how many of you would want to go to Tallahassee for a football game this year or Miami for the same game next year?
BT, Josh and I will be there. Probably the only game in C-bus I make this year. Corey I think it could be very interesting if Pete goes with "smash-mouth" Right now I'm worried about the "Middies"
I believe, if not mistaken, the next round is on me..... As for the Mids, they will be no pushover. Gimme a W - of any type - going into SC and I'll be a happy Buckeye.
you bet your sweet a55 the next one is on you! With the removal of "the Gate" maybe I'll be able to make it across Lane to the corner. What time do you plan on taking up ownership?
