Seems pretty incredible. But the huge scoreboard that they hung in the middle of the stadium is in play for punters. They hit it last night during the Titans/Cowboys game and punters said that during warmups that they could hit it fairly easily. Now it seems very strange that they would not have figured out some how the range of an NFL kicker and taken that into account. But apparently Jerry Jones is denying there is a problem, he did it all by the rules. And he's not raising it. But now because of this they are going to have to figure out how to ammend the rules, right now the coach has to waste a challenge to get it to the attention of the officals and the result is a "do over". Scoreboard is in play for punters When they built the Astrodome, two things happened. 1) they used clear glass panes in the roof because they planted a natural turf field 2) Whoops that clear glass caused severe glare on a sunny day and the outfielders had no clue where a high fly ball was going. So they painted the panels ...but oopps that blocked the natural sunlight and the grass all died...we had a brown field which they eventually painted green...and was the reason that Astroturf came into use. Who said stadium designers think of everything.
I recall that situation like it was yesterday. Well.......maybe not yesterday, but I remember it.
Oh yeah and there are some seats in the stadium that you can't see much of the field from. Hopefully they don't sell them. Here's a link to to a website that has a video on it. It's pretty funny and only 40 secs. Bad Seats
Wow! Bad seats! Ol' Jerry is going to be skewered for these mistakes. Kinda breaks my pea pickin' heart.
If you wanna motivate Jerry, penalize the home team so that when the punt hits the scoreboard, the receiving team is given possession of the ball, 1st and 10 from their own 5 yard line.
Yikes... <t>Pants in a wad over a football hitting a scorboard. I've spoken to two fans that were at the game Friday and raved about the place. <br/> I will see the place in November as a Ft.Worth buddy has invited the wife and I up for a game. Cannot wait.</t>
