Watched the Bama-UF SEC title game again the other day on a Classic channel and was reminded what a tremendous game that was. The lesson learned is that Alabama was a helluva team.....healthy and on a mission....and it took a great effort by Florida to knock them off. Makes one understand how precarious their lofty position just may be this season because I'll bet there is a team or two lurking out there that is pretty darned capable of knocking them off their perch. Another note is that UF had to beat Bama without Harvin....which they will have to do without every game this season. Hope the Gators figured out how it's done.
In college football every team has to start over each year, every team loses some great players, some key player, adds some new faces. Bama will have to do it this year without Andre Smith, maybe more valuable to them than Harvin was to the Gators.
The heart and soul of that team was those young AL LBs and their FS who is now gone. However, they are getting into 'reload' mode in terms of depth/talent. They're my pick to win the SECWest again.
