Everyone on the distribution list has a e-mail with the group number and password. Same rules as last year. Discuss any changes desired here.

    Tom,

I am receiving an error trying to sign up for the league. It says league not available and wrong password. Anyone else had a problem?

Tried it last night and again early this morning.

    Don,

Same here. Go to the fantasy home page and find and click on College Football Pick'em. That will take you to the sign-up page.

Thanks for finding that the link they originally supplied me with does not work. I have worked alongside Cindy to get a link that allowed her to sign in. Another message is coming to you shortly.

The link is coming straight from "Invite Friends" tool from within the group. You will be receiving a message from Sports-fantasy-replies@sports.yahoo.com with the subject of College Football Pick 'em. That message will have the proper link to get you in.

That one works, Tom. I run the same game for my family members and that's how I notify them.

    I'm in.

Got it, I'm in now. I've invited a couple of family members to join us as well...it's my counter move to the Ryckman Troika. :)

Oh yeah don't pay any attention to their nicknames. Big Eddie and Fast Tony or their email addresses in Vegas...they're the fun side of the family! :)

I'm not going to put the poll up right now. I want to get discussion going here about whether we drop 0, 1, or 2 weeks. There was a little controversy last year over the winner being known by the next to the last week because of dropped scores and the last week being a short week.

Talk it up... state your case... later in the week, we will put up a poll and vote.

What I can think of off the top of my head:

Pros for 1 or 2 dropped weeks:
    1) People travel to games and sometimes forget to pick while traveling
    2) Occasionally there may be a Thursday or Friday game that moves the pick date up which gets missed

Cons for 1 or 2 dropped weeks:
    1) The person that makes the effort to get their picks in every week is penalized by the others getting a "pass or two"
    2) Anticlimactic ending made more possible

When the poll goes up, the choices will be

    Drop low score(s)

    Don't drop low score(s)

IF drop low scores wins, a second poll will be generated:

    Drop 1 week

    Drop 2 weeks

I vote to drop low score and count all weeks. This gives a break to someone who misses a week or screws up his/her picks, which has happened to me in the past.

I agree with Sid. Doing it that way seems to me to be the most equitable solution.

    Guys,

Were not to that point yet. Last year, I put the poll up too soon and had people changing their minds after hearing others state their reasoning. This year, we are discussing it here in this topic and I will start a poll later this week once everyone has had a chance to express themselves and think about it.

It's too bad Yahoo doesn't allow you the ability to shut it down before the "light" week.

I would say if you are going with the drop a week system, you probaby need to go with dropping two.
That gives everyone a mulligan, AND removes the short week from the equation.
