What the??? He's hiking in the mtns, he's driving the coast of Argentina, the wife doesn't know where he is, the Lt. Gov didn't know he left town....I mean come on this guy is toast.

Even a diehard anti-liberal press person like me can't defend this guy from whatever the press and his political enemies come up with.

Those close to him say he's always been a maverick, marched to the beat of his own drum, has done this sort of disappearance to recharge the batteries before. The wife seems to be ok with it, maybe they have a different type of relationship, that's fine. But he needed to check that behavior at the door when he became Gov.

He can't blame this on the "liberal" press, he's solely the blame.

He was mentioned as a future GOP Pres Candidate, scratch that. I personally would worry that if he can't really handle a rough legislative session in South Carolina how could he survive inside the Beltway dealing with Congress, the press, the world, and have to do it 24X7 with no hope of one of those "get away by yourself weekends" . He's clearly unfit for being President (at least to me).

What an idiot. He was having an affair with an Argentinian woman. He has admitted it, asked for forgiveness, resigned as Chair of the Republican Govenors conference. He should just go ahead and resign as Gov of South Carolina as well.

    Complete Idiot.

His career isn't over. He just has to change parties. He's a perfect Democrat. Maybe could help John Edwards in his next Presidential bid.

    I'm just sayin...

Somehow Democrats aren't interested in what goes on behind closed doors until it involves a Republican.

Hypocrisy abounds from both sides on this issue...

A Democrat friend explained it to me this way.

    Paraphrasing...

We're all human and it's not unusual to find public figures not living up to our expectations in their personal lives. But you Republicans have since the 90's been trumpeting "Family Values", that you're morally superior to us. So we democrats and our Liberal Media allies take special pleasure in your humanity.
