    Irish rank #5.

    1. Texas 72.95M
    2. Georgia 67.05M
    3. Fla 66.1M
    4. Ohio State 65.16M
    5. Notre Dame 59.77M
    6. Auburn 59.67M
    7. Michigan 57.46M
    8. Alabama 57.37M
    9. Penn State 53.76M
    10. LSU 52.68M

It's a testament to the fans of Notre Dame football that we are still in the top 10 when since 1993 we have accomplished very little and have been more down than up. Also of those 10 teams most have stadiums exceeding 90K, ND probably has the smallest stadium.

I am suprised that Tenn is not in the top 10, they annually lead the nation in attendance, I think they have the largest seating capacity in college football, it has to about 30K more fans per game than Georgia and Fla so how is it that they don't make the top 10? I guess it's the difference in the bowl revenue, the TV revenue for all SEC teams would be the same right? I don't quite get how Georgia exceeded UF as well, though it's not by much.

Terry, I agree that it is a notable accomplishment for ND to be in the top ten as the only private, non state school with the smallest stadium. We certainly have not had anywhere near the bowl revenues that the other teams have received, which makes our position even more notable.

I'm always skeptical about these rankings....revenues can be accounted for in a variety of different ways - what's in, what's out, what percentage of shared revenues, donations, etc. - and are no doubt somewhat inconsistent between schools. So what actually are we measuring? Who knows? That said, I'm sure it's better to be included on the list than not......

I assume that schools have different ticket prices. Anyone know how the Vol ticket prices compare to Ga. or Fla.?

Most schools vary ticket prices by the game. At places like Texas, if a premium team like Ohio State comes to town that game is likely to be double the face of Arkansas State.

Is that true? I know we don't do that....at least we never used to.....it makes sense, I just didn't realize other schools did that. Another opportunity to move up the rankings!

Both Texas and Texas A&M vary ticket prices by the game. Some games are designated premium games and cost more.

    · Season tickets: $375
    · North end zone club level season tickets: $525. North end and East side club level seats include a food surcharge. Please refer to the TheLonghornFoundation.com for more information on the food surcharge.

    · Individual game tickets
    09/05 vs. Louisiana-Monroe (Austin): $65
    09/12 vs. Wyoming (Laramie): $55
09/19 vs. Texas Tech (Austin): $95
    09/26 vs. UTEP (Austin): $70
    10/10 vs. Colorado (Austin): $80
    10/17 vs. Oklahoma (Dallas): $95
    10/24 vs. Missouri (Columbia): $69
10/31 vs. Oklahoma State (Stillwater): $85
11/07 vs. Central Florida (Austin): $70
    11/14 vs. Baylor (Waco): $60

I was trying to figure out how Tenn. could have lower revenue than schools that had smaller stadiums. The first possibility is that they have lower ticket prices.
As to the Horns' ticket prices, I'm not sure how I'd feel if I were on one of those "non premium" teams.

That's a pretty standard practice, Gip. I'm guessing that we are one of the very few programs that does not do it.

Heck Sid, the past couple of years there were no premium teams in our games. :(
