This is the first of a series of ranking the various BCS conferences' nonconference schedules as well as the best and worst total schedules overall. Because of past - and, I'm sure, future - "debates" on this board about nonconference schedules, I found the article quite interesting.

Actually, I did not know about MCG moving. That's why it's been so quiet.

Here is the second in the series of columns ranking the nonconference schedules of the six BCS conferences and the best and worst schedules overall in the nation. This column looks at the Big 12.

    B12:

Games against Division I-AA teams: 9 of 48 (19 percent)
Games against BCS teams: 11 of 48 (23 percent)
    Games against non-BCS, I-A teams: 28 of 48 (58 percent)

    SEC

Games against Division I-AA teams: 11 (out of 48, or 23 percent of non-con games)
Games against BCS teams: 14 (out of 48, or 29 percent of non-con games)
Games against non-BCS teams: 23 (out of 48, or 48 percent of non-con games)

So the leagues are pretty equal in scheduling.

Interesting observation over on InsideTexas. There is talk that ND and Texas may have another series in 2013/2014. Texas fans are all for it as are ND fans, many Texas fans hate this years non-conf schedule that Texas has and want to play 1 ranked BCS foe every year in non-conf. They observed that in the Mackovic (6) years that Texas played 14 ranked BCS conference foes in non-conf (including ND in 95 and 96) while in Macks 11 years he has only played a ranked non-conf team 4 times.

ACC has a good non-conf schedule. Va Tech taking on both Alabama and Nebraska is excellent, throw in a MAC team and it's a very good non-conf schedule. FSU playing South Florida, Florida and BYU is also a very good schedule.

SEC and B12 not looking all that good in comparison.

I wonder why they didn't note that the team that dominates the opponents for those top 25 non-conf games is Notre Dame.

The four games that we have that aren't against teams in the top 25 of best non-conf slates are 1. Nevada 2. Wash State 3. Navy 4. UConn

If the Irish joined a conference who it would reduce the quality non-conference choices for the Conference teams.
