This is the last night I will be able to post for a little over a week. We are going to a remote cabin in Colorado tomorrow until Sat week. No internet, no phone but beautiful views.

My pictures recently have been of canyons and rock formations. They are harder to get to look good so I haven't been posting.

See you guys in a week or so, perhaps tomorrow am! :)

Remote Cabin? Getting away from the SkyBox? Will you have electricity and be able to brush your teeth? :)

    Have fun!

No jokes here about Bill already being out of touch (I keed! I keed! ), but Terry, what do you think of the Oral B Triumph? Is it worth the money?

I've really enjoyed your photos, Bill, and am looking forward to more.

Electricity running water and I believe an indoor toilet. :)

I don't think we will be able to post any more pictures until we get home. But thanks.

    Rick,

I recommend Oral B Triumph and Oral B Sonic electric brushes to my patients. I personally favor the Sonic, but it's more of a personal preference than something backed up by research. My main criteria for asking patients to switch from manual to powered is if they just aren't getting the job done with the manual, moving them to the powered brushed usually results in better plaque removal. I'm sure some of it has to do with the coolness factor. Also the powered brushes have timers on them and 2 minutes of brushing is a long time for most people. Time yourself and between 30 sec and a minute you'll think you're done. Forcing people to do 2 minutes is a big factor (IMHO) in the improvement.

Also I recommend them to kids with braces and adults who have a tendency to brush, make that scrub, their teeth too hard.

But if your plaque scores and pocket scores are good there is little benefit other than if you just want to switch. I still use manual brush and floss.

    Hope that helps.

    Terry

Thanks very much, Terry. We've heard good things about the toothbrush and have been talking about switching. I used to use a battery Oral B (rotary?) and switched back to manual, but a friend told me the Triumph was really good. I'll be sure to check out the Sonic as well.
