I don't remember him, but back then I didn't really follow the AL, was strictly a NL guy and a Dodger fan. But I like this advice. I'll keep this as my swing thought on the 1st tee tomorrow!
I read his obit today in the L.A. Times. My jaw dropped when I read his 1959 numbers of 29 HR, 82 R, 71 RBI and .251 BA. Those were some big numbers back then for a guy primarily playing shortstop.
Yet another consequence of the steroid era, all of my cards that I thought might be worth something in 30 years are now most likely worthless because they're of PED users.
