It seems like at some point Obama is going to do away with don't ask don't tell and gays will be able to openly practice their lifestyle. My question is since Gay men will be allowed to sleep in barracks with the objects of their sexual desire..ie other men. Will hetersexual men be allowed to sleep in the womens barracks? That is all.
There's no more barracks Terry, except for Boot Camp, and I dare them to try it there. Clay Aikens can come out of the Closet and nobody really gives a ****... Private Smith tries it, and he gets thrown back into it. I speak of course of the World Famous United States Marine Corps, and for the most part, the wannabees, the Army.
The problem as I see it... and I by no means mean to speak for AJ or any of our fine servicemen on this weekend in which we honor them...or at any other time... but as I see the issue. The men and women of the service are exactly that. They are marines, sailors, grunts, pilots etc. The gay servicemen want to create a separate tagline or title that makes them different... special, if you will. That seems to spit in the face of all things that Corps, Navy, Army or Air Force. They want to be gay marines, gay pilots, gay sailors... that seems to be lost in translation somewhere and that really is the issue for me. And before someone, Dave, shoots off at the hip saying Im gay bashing or a right wing nut... remember that I am PRO-gay marriage... I just think that sexuality, in any form, does not belong in the services. I seem to remember an officer for being busted for dating a female coworker... will straights be the only one punishable now?
Is there anything that Obama is not going to **** up? I guess now that the Marines are looking for "A few good boys." Oh and Corey, it's probably good you don't live in Pelosiville anymore. Even those folks aren't buying "gay marriage."
In her home district they do. In my home state, they never have. Contrary to its national image, large parts of California are brutally conservative. They re-districting that took place in the 90s by the Democrats have totally removed them from power at all. Also, this reflects the lack of understanding that Democrats have for their own base. People seem to forget that my childhood was MUCH different than that of my younger brother. I grew up in the hood which was entirely black and hispanic. Mostly black... Gay marriage or even the notion of it is VERY unpopular in the black and hispanic communities. I'd say that, even thought the white christian community takes the heat for this issue, if you polled most african-american grandmas (because they are far more likely to vote than the other demographics), you'd be shocked at how unpopular gay marriage is with them.
