Getting pretty cocky isn't he. Well at the moment he has every reason to be cocky, but things have a way of coming back to bite you sometimes.

    I'm living proof...

Every team the Gators play this year will have them marked as a red letter date.

I wish he had put it differently, but his real point is that he has gotten the program where he want's it and is going to stay a long time.

Yes the Gators will be marked by every opponent, but since 1990 that's pretty much been true anyway.

I intend to just enjoy the moment and not get caught up in a lot of he said, she said blah blah blah stuff.

As long as he keeps his remarks to his own team and not insult other teams I'm ok with what Meyer is saying.

He's not the only coach as a Spurrier booster you had him saying this stuff all the time. He still does at So.Carolina.

Les Miles made the comment last year at a LSU booster meeting where he made some disparaging remarks about the USC schedule. Charlie got some negative publicity when at a ND function he said something like "to hell with Michigan". Bo Schembechler said the samething once, except it was "to hell with Notre Dame".

Their schedule is so bad this year that it doesn't matter what color his opponents mark the Gators... If Florida gets beat anywhere but the SECCG or the title game, it would be an all-time great upset.

Im just saying Tom. You guys are rebuilding AND you catch them early. That doesn't bode well for you this year. I think you'll get there under Kiffen, but that's a tall order that early in the season.

According to the world of Corey the Gators always have, and easy schedule, an unfair system that allows them to get whatever good things they get, no right to play in a championship game, a quarterback who can't be 5th string at USC, etc etc etc.

My bet is that by the end of the year our schedule will rank pretty well.

Bill, from the perspectives of many, mine included, Corey is providing no more than a natural counter-balance to the "world of MCG" wherein anything Gator is blessed with celestial goodness and athletic dominance the likes of which the world has never seen, etc, etc, etc......imho.

    Bill,

Say what you want about me personally... sticking to the subject at hand:

This is the Gator schedule..please tell me which games you fear

-Charleston Southern HOME (Urban's wife will have 4TDs and 200 yards rushing at halftime)

-Troy HOME (not a total POS, but do you fear them on any level? If they beat the last place team in the SEC, it would be an upset)

-Tennessee HOME (normally a block buster but it has waned in recent years, you catch UT in full blown rebuild mode and they are sure to be a tad nicked up after playing UCLA the week before)

-Kentucky AWAY (an average team at best with good speed.. maybe a bowl team, maybe not.)

    BYE

-LSU AWAY (LSU has as many athletes as anyone in the country and they appear to be going backwards under Les Miles. You also catch them the week AFTER they go to Georgia)

-Arkansas HOME (They are going to throw the ball 60 times in this game and that may keep it close, but I doubt it. The Hogs have too many holes to fill. This game will tell us a whole lot about where the Arkansas program is headed though)

-Miss State AWAY (A traditionally bad, undisciplined team hired the guy who ran your offense last year. The one team who can't possibly be fooled by that offense will be Florida. The only 'edge' they could possibly have would be the surprise factor and that goes away with the Gators)

-Georgia JAX (This team has absolutely lived off of Knowshon Moreno and Matt Stafford. They will still have UGA athletes on defense but they have some major, major holes to fill and may be a 4 loss team at the end of the year)

-Vanderbilt HOME (Vandy was a nice story last year finishing just a hair above .500 In a best case scenario, they will be about the same as they were last year..which is no match for the Gators)

-South Carolina AWAY (Playing SCAR at SCAR is always interesting and the ole ball coach is clearly trying to get under Urban's skin lately. He's doing that because he doesn't have the horses to match up on the field)

-Florida International HOME (you're playing an airport)

-Florida State HOME (Once one of, if not the, marquis game in college football has fallen off a bit with FSU running into all sorts of problems for a variety of reasons. This may well be your toughest game of the year and it will come against a team that might have 3 to 4 losses in the ACC)

Now there you have it. No Ad Hominem. No blind Gator hatred. There are my reasons as to why I think your schedule doesn't look too daunting at this point in time. Your 'toughest' challenges are against rebuilding teams or teams with major questions who will be playing you coming off of a tough game.. while you have a bye or a weak opponent the week before.

Now why do you think it will be tough?? Or do you even?? Were you just resorting to calling me out and making it about me rather than the subject?

    I'll take that bet! :)

T, I understand your perspective and have done two things. The first one is that in many cases I have come down on MCG harder than anyone. Deleting or locking some of his posts. I don't agree with his approach.

Secondly, where it comes to Corey you will have a very hard time convincing me that it's all to counter MCG. Just my humble opinion.

Thirdly I have stayed more on the sidelines to stay out of a lot of these go arounds.

However when you hear a constant drum beat about how bad the BCS is, which a lot of us would agree, but how it's all the SEC's fault. How everytime the Gators win something there is always someone who is better etc etc etc sometimes I have to chime in. Today is one of those times.

Corey, to a great degree where it comes to your opinion about the Gators I do feel it's about your bias.

As far as our schedule I look at it in the overall picture. Eight SEC games and FSU is a reasonable schedule by a reasonable standard for reasonalbe people.

I will say again that at the end of the season when strength of schedule is figured ours will be decent. Probably not as high as last year but reasonable.

I would make the $10 wager with you that at the end of the year the Gators schedule will be rated stronger than the Notre Dame schedule.

I'm back to enjoying my vacation.

Hey I call a spade a spade and Florida has won 2 of the last 3 BCS title games....beating an all-timer unbeaten #1 OSU handily and beating an all-timer of an offense in OU by 10 points. The Gators have more returning players off a national championship team than any I can remember and a QB who is close to being named one of the best college Qbs of all time.

I am just being realistic about Florida's chances this year...which are skyhigh by anyone's estimation.

And...I also think like Bill that UF's schedule will be higher ranked than ND's at the end of the season... but not by much.
