This person coached at his alma mater from 1941 to 1953 and fell gravely ill during the 53 season and was given the last rights during one of the games. However, he lived another 20 years after that.
Yes Jif, I'm sure. Terry got it withe the second coach associated with Notre Dame in this trivia exercise. Sooner or later, we'll run out of ND coaches.
OK, first clue is that this one has nothing to do with Notre Dame! There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you.
Keep trying uncle Vinny on all of them Jif. I'll try to find one that we can attribute to him. HH hit it right on the nail head with ole Woody.
I'm now finding different sites that point to both Lombardi and Leahy over the "A school without football is in danger of deteriorating into a medieval study hall." Vince could have been correct until the clues start pointing to the years he coached at his alma mater. Lombardi's only colegate head coaching experience looks to be St Cecilia for 5 years. The rest of the time, he was a position coach or assistant. So... partial credit to JIF!
We should all chip in and get Scott this for his birthday, or for Christmas or just for the hell of it!
It certainly wasn't Gator Bill who said that, I think you should be able to rally around a math class. I think Bobby Bowden tried to rally around an online music class but it didn't work out real well.
And Bill takes time out of his nationwide tour to come up with the right answer. Although the senior Bowden appears to have never met a reason to stay away from classes that he didn't like, it was Paul that coined that phrase.
Bill showing off posting from Yellow Stone no doubt posting and feeding the bears at the same time!!
We are only in scenic Kansas City at this point, but hope to see some Bears later. Knowing what the Bear always did to SEC teams I'll keep my distance. I still say he didn't attend any of my math classes though.
