When you are already last place in a contest, it doesn't help having 75% of your drivers taken out in two different wrecks.

Carl Edwards made history for being the first driver to finish the race without a car! His last lap wreck was reminiscent of Bobby Allison's wreck in 1987, the last race I ever attended in person. His car hit the retaining fence and parts shredded off of the car. The carburetor was missing from the engine when it came to rest.

The eventual winner was Brad Keselowski, a rookie that has led one lap in his career... that being the last lap of this race. Picking him to win would be like me picking Crompton to win the Heisman this year... and him doing it! 8) 8) 8)

I forgot to explain this... After a wreck that had him airborne and totally destroying his car, he climbed out looking mad while disconnecting cables from his helmet, and starting running down the track. The talking heads were speculating that he was running toward someone. In actuality, he was running toward the finish line. He got to the line, about 50 yards from his car, and hopped over it.

In the post race interview, he stated that he couldn't get that close to winning without at least finishing (he was leading the race when the wreck occurred). There was a big roar of cheers as he hopped over the line.

Since my signature has been challenged, I'll revert to this one until I can establish the validity of the original.
