I'll tell you what really incenses me about this is when people moronically expect the rest of us to believe that the whole Tripp/Rove/Lewinsky/Clinton scenario was anything but political. That it was about bad morals only. The really stupid people are those that didn't see it for what it was politically and it is those people that really scare me in the long run. I hope to God that group never has anything to say about what really happens to the rest of us. And before some of you race to place yourself in that group how about running to the mirror and do a little self examination before you spout off with the usual Limbaughesque rhetoric. Which leads me to another question....do any of you GOP guys actually form your own opinions anymore or are you a constant slave to the right wing internet blogs and the like? Really...sometimes I think you guys only form opinions based on what gobbledy goop you are either hearing or reading.
I missed the part where you explained how the deliberate act of commiting felony perjury and evidencing ridiculously poor judgement - repeatedly - is political?
Some one had to start the chain of events, Dave. And that someone was Bill Clinton. His wounds were entirely self inflicted.
Gore not winning Tennessee has nothing to do with Democrat vs Republican and everything to do with the person running being Gore. The good people of Tennessee have dealt with this lying scumbag before and did not want him in ultimate power over the country.
Wow Cindy you go girl .. I have a question Why are the OBAMA backers so afraid no one is putting this entirely on him however the people in the congress and senate better hold on for a bumpy ride American's are feed up with them and ultimately it is their errors that have led us here .. I speak to hundreds of good middle class americans all day long and I think you will be suprised to know they are fighting to save there homes and there way of life ... for alot they now see that the Congress and Senate have a large roll in what they are faced with now ,and trust me they are ready to vote them all out of office ... One gentleman told he thght Joe the plummer was a joke but today he would vote for him... I really never thght of myself as being an extremeist (except for baseball umpires who make bad calls) and I am insulted that I would be considered a threat to America for my beliefs .I will do whatever it takes to vote anyone out of office who refers to me or my family as threats to america (Considering that 2 of my relatives signed the Declaration of Independence ) bring it on opps joco told me that is a domestic threat ..... oh well make me angry and oh well pay the price
No doubt as I have agreed without a misstep by him he wouldn't have put himself in such a vulnerable position for his enemies to take advantage of. That's all it was....a mistake that never should have been what it was but the bigger they are the harder they fall...etc Cindy....Gore on the ticket didn't keep the state of Tenn from voting for Clinton in two consecutive elections. You would think they must not have hated the man that badly.
Speaking of that lying scumbag Gore, the golbal warming cabal is now in charge in Washington. We've got programs proposed like cap and tax and small piss ant cars in our future. And why? Because of global warming. You know the melting polar ice etc. Only one problem http://www.foxnews.com:80/story/0,2933,517035,00.html it's total ********.
Not many in Detroit including me are happy about that prospect but I propose it's development has more to do with rip-off gas prices than with anything else. If gas prices were sustained at reasonable levels then larger, higher profit vehicles would still be the rage and Detroit wouldn't be in the dire straits that it is in. At least the oil companies are sustaining their record profits year after year. Good that somebody is getting rich in all of this. http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune500/2009/full_list/
......and who would the responsible for defining "reasonable levels"? What activities do you think the central government should NOT be resposible for? That is probably a much shorter list......do you really want Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to set gas prices? Really??????
Like I said BT.....good to see someone is getting filthy rich by all of this crisis the rest of us have to endure.
.....and just WHO are these mysterious someones that are enriching themselves at the expense of the woe-is-me's of the rest of the world?
Apparently many top execs did very nicely with increases in 2008 in spite of their bumbling and stumbling.... http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2009/04/15/ceos-do-the-right-thing.aspx "Here’s just one example, and granted, there are many. ExxonMobil’s (NYSE: XOM) Rex Tillerson’s pay, including bonus, rose 34% last year, despite the fact that the company’s shares fell 15% in that same period, the worst performance of that stock in 27 years." .....but that's OK because by God what would the rest of us cretins do without this guy and those like him. According to BT there are only so many Tillersons to go around and the rest of us need to bow down and pay up.
So the AFL-CIO tells you that Tillerson had a good year last year......there is surely an unbiased source ready, willing and able to go to the ends of the earth to provide an objective analytical framework.....sure thing. They tell you that his "pay including bonus" rose last year which is a fact - for only the "cash" component of his compensation which is but a fraction on his total. They also say that the stock fell 15% last year which is a fact also - they conveniently did not share with you what the decline in the share price did to his overall compensation Interesting juxtaposition but also, shockingly, missing some key facts. What they don't tell you is that the company's earnings increased meriting Tillerson the awards based upon the company performance-based cash payouts. Tillerson's compensation is heavily weighted towards equity awards.....his stock holdings and equity based awards are many multiples times his annual salary. If the owners of his company don't make any money, neither does Tillerson. If the owners of his company make money, then they are happy to share their bounty with their chief executive, his management team and their employees. Tillerson earned $5.9 million in salary and performance based cash awards. The value of his stock awards in 08 from prior years declined by $10 million. The value of his overall XOM holdings declined by $30 million......Tillerson had great year - his net worth tanked. If he keeps getting enriched at that rate, pretty soon he'll have nothing......You had a better year than Tillerson. Where is that in the AFL-CIO's fine analysis? Perhaps the AFL-CIO wants to begin a radical new compensation structure for their members.....put 90% of their compensation at risk based upon company performance and equity market valuations as does Tillerson and most other major company CEO's. The domestic automakers would jump at the chance.....the crushing fixed cost burden accruing to the "benefit" of its members - the 2 or 3 that still have a job - that the AFL-CIO has put on the backs of and at the expense of the company's customers, owners and investors would disappear changing immediately the relative competitive playing field. You think we'll see that put to a vote anytime soon? It's a crock.....they whine about it inequities of compensation but would walk-out rather than accept less than guarantees on the vast majority their own compensation. Let 'em eat cake.....
Well here's a better example, Congress just got a pay raise. Guess it's because the US had such a great year last year. Guess it's because we cut the deficit. But that's OK, most of Congress is Democratic.
