Always a good series when these two teams meet. I'll be watching with great interest. The way the Cards are starting out, they may be a factor in the NLC race. Never doubt the ability of Tony LaRussa to produce a highly competitive team. Last year, it was the Cubs and Brewers. Maybe this year, it will be the Cubs and Cards. I think it's a safe bet that the Astros won't be in the hunt. 8)
Not this year, Bucko. Their pitching won't allow them to make a run at anything but the bathroom.
If.....a big if......Hampton can stay healthy, you might have some hope, but Oswalt can't do it alone.
Bottom 6...bases are drunk...Milton Bradley pitch hittin'....Wainright down 3-0....FB strike.....BD Slider strike....HUGE UNCLE CHARLIE ON THE INSIDE PLATE!!! Bradley's pissed, bumps blue, tossed....FWD....Cards win 7-4... That's a great view that Cardinal had Wendy...THANKS!!! BTW, LYLAS Wendy....
I listened to that on the web-radio at work. They were all excited & surprised that Bradley was ready to play already - you could feel their anicipation for him stepping in and being the hero. Then he sits there with the bat velcroed on his shoulder as 7 straight pitches go by. Shoot, *I* could have done that! You could hear the air deflating out of what had been a good, back & forth game. Sounds like we're headed for a similar game today. Thank goodness we have Huskerville on our side!
I'm too uncool to known what that meant ... so I looked it up. That has to be the nicest thing someone I don't know has ever said to me. I'm all verklempt
