Sounds like Ohio State is in a position not seen around Buckeye land in a few years:

You never know how fresh talent is going to pan out their first time in the spotlight.

I think Ohio State is still the favorite in the B10. Tressel has had excellent recruiting his whole tenure at Ohio State, so you have to figure those guys who are getting their chance now are very capable and if they step up then a 5th B10 Championship is possible.

Michigan is probably still a year away from being a contender, Penn State has their QB back but lost a lot of very good Sr's as well, but with a vet QB you have to figure them for a contender, plus they have a very easy schedule.

Traditionally you can expect Wisc to be a good team, but I don't really know. Purdue has QB problems with the projected starter being dismissed from school for undisclosed reasons ( reading between the lines he must have gotten caught in some sort of academic situation with cheating or plagarism).

Maybe this is Northwesterns year to finish in the top 3, I don't know.

It's funny how MSU doesn't even get a mention.

True we lost a large number of players on both offense and defense.

Tressel has a very highly rated recruiting class and quite a bit of depth on those returning from last year.

Talk is that the offense this year will be quite different and centered around Pryor at QB. Bauserman the backup is no slouch and has a great arm.

We have a number of gifted receivers and three good tailbacks with speed.

I do not think we have a chance against USC, but the rest of the schedule is not too difficult.

Tressel may surprise all of us by seasons end.

Don it seems to me that Tressel has, every year, had excellent recruiting. That is the key to consistent winning.

College football teams all over have to replace key players, but teams like USC, Texas, OU, Ohio State, all replace them with highly recruited players who have been waiting their turn.

You can't replace Beanie Wells, but maybe the next year Pryor will be better throwing the ball and run the ball even better. In that Fiesta it was clear that he was special running the ball, just didn't have the confidence or consistency with his throwing. That'll change likely. So you'll be different and maybe better.
