Time for another pict of BDR's fridge!! :) See if he has any of these favorites.

Interesting they are all IPA's....not a personal favorite of mine. The lone exception being a Blue Moon at 11,000 feet after a day of carving up a mountain.....

BDR, what's up with all the IPA's at the final table?

It was a IPA contest. No other style was allowed.

I've had all but the Sweetwater. Of the three I've had, I'd rank them:

    1. Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA
    2. Boulder Mojo India Pale Ale
    3. Stone IPA.

Sam Calagiano at DFH is a real innovator and a great brewer. I'm surprised Brooklyn's East India IPA didn't show better.

There were a lot of good beers in the original group, but I'm a little surprised by the beers representing the west. For one thing, Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale (released for Xmas every year) is an IPA by style, and would be in the finals. Anchor's Liberty is a lighter example of the style, but is incredible fresh. For a bolder example, there's DUIPA from Hoptown in Pleasanton, CA.

No BridgePort IPA from Oregon? And not a single WA entry? Fish Brewing in Olympia makes a great all-chinook IPA.

And why isn't the midwest represented? No Two-Hearted Ale from Kalamazoo/Bell's (MI) or Dreadnaught from Three Floyds (IN)?
