With Clausen to ND and Mallet to UM who's next? Here's Farrell's (rivals.com) comments (abridged): Pat Bostick, Lancaster PA Manheim is clearly leaning towards Pitt. The Panthers are looking for a marquee QB and Bostick fits the bill. Despite offers from many others including UGA LOU UMD NCS and others, expect Bostick to commit to Pitt in May. Best guess now: Pitt Watch out for: no one else Jason Munns, Kennewick WA Southridge will become quite a bit more popular when some of these other QBs choose schools. ASU, WSU, Utah and BYU have offered early but expect PAC 10 schools like ORE ORS and possibly others to jump in this race soon. Munns currently plans on taking all of his official visits, but that could change if the right offer comes along. Best guess now: WSU Watch out for: Cal or USC if they offer Matt Simms, Ramsey NJ Don Bosco Prep Like many, Simms liked ND quite a bit. But now that the Irish are no longer an option, LOU RU BC would be among his top choices if Paulus chooses UNC. All 3 programs have signed Don Bosco players in the last couple of years and have connections to the school. SCAR and UTN could try to jump in here as well. Simms has mentioned no timetable specifically but it's doubtful his father, former NFL great Phil Simms, won't want to put Matt through what brother Chris went through. Best guess now: BC Watch out for: LOU or any new big offer Stephen Garcia, Tampa FL Jefferson Will this come down to the Old Ball Coach versus his replacement once removed? It's looking that way. The Gators are desperate for 2 QBd in this recruiting class and losing John Brantley hurt. Steve Spurrier wants a marquee guy to build his offense around it would be a bonus to get one from FL. If Garcia picks SCAR, they'd be done. If he chose UF, the Gators would still be in the hunt for another signal-caller and the Gamecocks could turn their attention to Simms. Best guess now: SCAR Watch out for: UF G.J. Kinne, Gilmer TX the son of former BU LB and current assistant coach Gary Joe Kinne so the Bears will be in the mix. OU UF ALA are also in there and USC could turn their attention to Kinne if they miss out on Paulus. OU is looking for a replacement for Rhett Bomar, UF and ALA have very little depth under center and USC is USC. Kinne said he'll sit back a bit and wait for some more QBs to commit before making a decision and plans on visiting UF OU BU and USC this summer. Best guess now: OU Watch out for: USC if they offer and UF Josh Nesbitt, Greensboro GA Greene County UGA and GT are certainly attractive but FSU, UNC and AUB will make him think long and hard. Some question whether Nesbitt is a true QB and there is some thought that he'd make a fine WR or safety. He prefers to play under center and will carefully consider all his options. Now that Paulus has picked UNC, the Heels are out. Beyond them, everyone else will be in the mix after May. Best guess now: GT Watch out for: Georgia and FSU Tyrod Taylor, Hampton VA Everyone assumes he’s a lock for VT because of a couple of guys from the area named Vick. But this is a wide open race between a bunch of teams. UVA is now out with the commitment of Lalich and UNC is out as well with their commitment from Paulus. But VT, UTN, PSU, NCS UF and many others all have a shot. Taylor doesn't seem to be in any hurry and will be the most sought after QB in the country if he waits. I could picture Taylor at numerous schools and this one might go well into the winter, but the Hokies still have to be the team to beat. Best guess now: VT Watch out for: UF Chris Forcier, San Diego CA St. Augustine Wait a minute. Why is a committed QB on this list? Forcier already committed to UCLA so he shouldn't be listed here, right? Not so fast. USC didn't get Jimmy Clausen and couldn't sway Mike Paulus from the east coast, so who will they turn to next with an offer? It could be Forcier and it will be interesting to see if he changes his mind if that offer comes. USC might be the only school that could make Forcier think twice. Best guess now: UCLA Watch out for: USC
Surprised he left Mike Paulus out of that list. He was Charlies 2nd choice. I figured that once Clausen verbaled, then Paulus would verbal to UM, but Mallet beat him to the punch. I wonder where he'll end up.
