Who knows.....I wish we had a link to the source document so I could understand a bit better how they counted the beans....what's in and what's not in so to speak.....for example, my best guess is that the debt service requirements for the financing of the stadium expansion -- which was massive - and the upgrade of the Hayes facility are likely included in our numbers. But without a better understanding of the accounting, I can only speculate.....other than that, I would just have to assume that Terrelle Pryor was pehaps more expensive than I thought when they called for money and no doubt we're still paying for Clarett's car collection.....private jets, limos and women ain't cheap pal!

Did you note the 67M revenue with only 19million expenses for Georgia...that's the highest profit on this list. I don't know if Georgia has luxury boxes/preferred seating etc.

I assume that schools with large capacities and luxury boxes/Club seating will naturally have higher revenue. I would imagine that once UM gets their stadium renovations done that their revenue will jump quite a bit. I don't know what the Texas revenue is, our stadium is around 94K and we do have luxury boxes. So our revenues are bound to be pretty high.

ND stadium does not have luxury boxes/club seating so other than increased ticket prices they won't be able to increase revenue generation. I don't think they will ever build luxury boxes at ND stadium.

Jumbotron, I don't know how much revenue those things kick in, could be a little could be a lot. Stephen Finn once gave me some numbers on that but it's been a while an I don't remember. I doubt we ever have a Jumbotron at ND stadium, for that I'll be happy.

    Terry,

On the more serious side, I tend to agree with what Buckeye Terry is saying, but it is almost impossible to know what is buried in those figures.

I think all of the major athletic programs with the big bucks and high attendance numbers, are going to be struggling to maintain their level of income/and or net profit.

Expenses will kill you if they can not be controlled.

Nope! Would have been a little lower. Urban has no three times a day double cheeseburger clause in his contract for recruiting trips.

Sorry, after the previous topic about CW's nicknames, I couldn't resist. 8)

As far as recruiting expenses, I am not suprised at all that ND has the highest on that list. The Irish recruit from coast to coast and beyond so there is bound to be a lot of air miles and the long distance bill is probably pretty high as well.

I don't know but I would think Texas and Texas A&M would have very low (relatively) recruiting expenses. I don't think Mack himself hardly ever leaves Austin. The kids have to come to Austin to get an offical written offer, and unlike Charlie, Mack doesn't do the road show. Not to mention both schools probably don't need to go more than 300 miles for most of their recruits.

I would think Tenn and Neb would have to travel more than the typical big time schools since HS football in those states doesn't produce the number of blue chippers that Texas, Calif, Fla, Ohio, Georgia, and Penn produce.

I think when you're trying to recruit kids from Hawaii, it gets expensive quickly. Do they have any good players over there?

It would be interesting to see what is included in those football expenses. I have to believe that somehow stadium costs are included. It would be interesting to see which of those schools may have had recent stadium expansions etc.
