You know...I look forward to every season in college football and next year I am sure would be no exception but with Florida being such a prohibitive SEC East favorite....if not SEC Championship favorite....if not National Championship favorite heading into the season the young, brash Mr. Kiffin of Tenn. has given new life to the early part of the season schedule.

I'll admit I am not so gracious as some and as willing as some to do a Lou Holtz type makeover on some of UF's opponents and call them out as "great" or traditionally tough" etc. when I really deep down do not think they are going to be all that competitive vs. Florida.

This year with Tenn being the marquee game in the early part of the home schedule with only FSU as the other "tough" home game I really didn't give it all that much thought before the razzing of Meyer and Fla in general by Coach Kiffin during NSD week.

He has now elevated the interest in this game from a fan, team and most importantly a media standpoint because they love a good story....and good sound bytes leading up to a game and I believe there will be many heading into this one next year and that's cool with me.

So.....thanks again Lane Kiffin....can't wait to see ya..... :D

I should add the link that was the inspiration for my post:

    http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/for_the_record/posts/47761-kiffins-irreverence-stokes-fan-base-and-vols-gators-rivalry

No need for any Vols or moderators to take offense here.

I don't see why this can't be discussed with civility.

I think it will be a very relevant SEC/national topic as the SEC heads into it's meetings in the summer and I would guess LK will have more statements to booster clubs etc. to stoke the SEC fires between now and Sept. 19th and it should be interesting to watch.

I guess if the mods want to ignore it and pretend it didn't and won't happen then go ahead and lock the topic and we will all just ignore whatever else LK has to say from here on out.

But I do think it makes for a more interesting offseason that he's at UT.

Let me make myself clear here Dave.

Kiffin was discussed at length in the other topic and the only thing you have presented different here is the last article.

Let me take AJ's approach with his questions.

Why can't we discuss this issue with civility? Let me count the ways.

    • SOME PEOPLE BEAT A TOPIC TO DEATH

SOME PEOPLE SAY THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER JUST USING DIFFERENT LANGUAGES OR LINKS

SOME PEOPLE HAVE DEFINITE TENDENCIES TO THROW STUFF AGAINST THE WALL TO SEE WHAT STICKS

SOME PEOPLE SEEM TO FIND REASONS TO KNOCK AND FIND FAULT WITH JUST ONE PROGRAM

SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T KNOW WHEN TO QUIT

SOME PEOPLE LOVE TO DO THE STUFF ABOVE AND THEN PLAY INNOCENT

This topic could get locked in a hurry.

Trying to get us to do your homework? :)

Let's see for number 3 I have always wondered about the psychological stress Pavov put on his poor dog.

Memory, what's that, let's see three stages

    • State 1 Hearing

      Stage 3 Forgetting

      I forgot stage 2
      8) 8)

If I remember any of the answers to any of the other questions I'll be back if I can remember.

    OK Bill.....I get your message.

Last year I pointed in the off season to a game in September that would be mentioned by every media outlet many times over as one of great interest to all in the college football world and it sure turned out that way although ultimately did not have a direct bearing on the national championship because of the rise of the Big 12.
It did clear the way for the Big 12 in some respects and eliminated a top preseason contender so it was a huge game of interest.

I for one enjoy talking about the season to come from Feb. thru August because I love college football and it gets very boring in these coming months for fans of the sport....like me.

    Oh well.

I know, I know, I know, ...raising hand.

#5: The Three Stooges was an American vaudeville and comedy act of the early to mid–20th century best known for their numerous short subject films. Their hallmark was physical slapstick comedy punctuated by quickly-delivered one-liners, within outrageous storylines.

Malloy's HIEARCHY has some merit. We need to substitute the Gators for Notre Dame though.

Hey speaking of the Detroit Lions here's a trivia question.

Where were the Lions located before moving to Detroit.

Here's a hint, it was not in Florida.

I'm still thinking about whether or not I need to turn the volume or the tuning...
