I see that a FSU WR was dismissed from the team following an arrest for DUI and Ohio State OL Alex Boone was arrested for public drunkedness.

Boone peaked my interest since he was highly coveted by ND when he was being recruited. So I went to the Bucknuts board to see what the reaction was there. It was interesting to see that nobody was suprised, evidently he has had an alcohol problem for quite awhile and was known to be a big time partiy animal around the OSU campus. Most of the OSU fans posting on the free board on this topic said he never lived up to expectations and that he had a lack of commitment most likely related to his party habits. Given what I read I hope if he's available that the Texans pass on him, sounds like a young man who's headed for a lot of trouble.

This is just the begining, you can bet that at least 20 or 30 college players will make the news in an unfortuneate manner from now till August, it will peak most likely late spring early summer. It will be from all corners of the country.

I wonder if now that Phil Fulmer is no longer coaching will the boys at EDSBS (very good site, even if it is a Gator Blog!) will retire the Fulmer Cup, which was awarded to the team with the most offseason incidents?

Boone is quite a piece of work....not a bad kid, just can't seem to grow up. Was very highly regarded and played alot of football in Columbus, but never grew into the dominant LT many projected and he was indeed the life of the party.....this is his 2nd or 3rd alcohol related incident. I hope he grows up and gets to work.....his stupidity and immaturity has cost him millions, literally.... :?

I will be interested to see how this effects his draft status? He definitely has some alcohol problems.

How much beer does a kid that big have to drink to blow 3x the limit? I think Boone is 6'8" 330 or so.....geez, I hope he gets things straightened out.

From reading that account it sounds like somebody was speculating rather than his BA being 3x the limit.

I read off another message board but anyone know if Boone used to drink 40 beers in an afternoon? I thought I read that too in article a while back but can't find it.

Not inviting him over for any parties
