How many days till P&C's Jiffy? I wonder who'll play St. Louis in the WS? I'm guessing it's a toss up between NYY and the Sox. Don't think the Rays can duplicate last year again.
34 days to P & C ...now we can get down to the REAL business of sports!! Never mind this college football and college baseball junk!! Sox will win the east followed by Tampa and NY. Rocco Baldelli..the PRIDE OF THE MINI STATE ..BABY!!!!
I'm figuring to see a lot of Cardinal tailfeathers this year, Astros didn't do much to improve themselves in the off season. I don't know about the Cubs they made some moves recently but they didn't seem to make any sense to me. Brewers signed Trevor Hoffman, but is he finally over the Hill? They don't seem like they will be as good as they were last year. I have no clue as to what the Redbirds have done though. What have they done to make them the Division Winner?
Well Doc, they have added some needed relief pitching and have decided to go in-house for a closer. The Cardinals added another candidate to their lefty relief derby on Monday, signing Royce Ring to a one-year contract. Ring is the third left-handed reliever St. Louis has acquired this winter. Ring, 28, posted an 8.46 ERA with Atlanta in 2008. He struck out 16 against 10 walks in 22 1/3 innings. For his career, he has a 4.93 ERA, 53 Ks and 40 walks in 65 2/3 innings over 94 appearances. The Cardinals also signed Trever Miller this offseason, and claimed Charlie Manning off waivers. Another lefty, Ian Ostlund, could get a look after signing as a Minor League free agent with a non-roster invitation to Major League Spring Training. St. Louis non-tendered Randy Flores and Tyler Johnson and is content to let Ron Villone leave as a free agent.
I'm sure he would not mind the comparison, but I doubt it. If my feeble memory is semi-accurate, I think you are reminding Jif of something he said a while back.
the kid and his family are first class. I was at a wedding a few years back with Rocco's mom and dad present..they are great great people.
