Guys, I apologize for hyjacking the Tebow topic with playoff talk. I started this one to continue the discussion. The last comment was from Corey who said:
If a playoff would come about as Corey proposes I would support it completely. My point however is that I don't see agreement happening with his proposal. I still see it as completely feasible to use the weekend that the conferences now have their playoffs as a time where it is completely possible to narrow the field to 8 teams. I understand what Corey is saying that you can't force conferences to have a playoff. However I also see that as a sticking point with the conferences who do have a playoff and are happy with it. So things could end up in stalemate if both type conferences don't move at all. I agree completely with what Corey says as to how much we've moved from the bowl system of a number of years ago to where we are now and also believe we will move again. But I think the existing bowl system will still be in effect and will likely the playoff integrated into that system. I'll support it either way. And will continue to support the existing system until some agreement is reached and a new system put in place.
I am so over the whole playoff deal right now. It's not happening next year, so I've moved on and now am in football recruiting mode and basketball mode.
I can't help but agree Terry. The Gators are 16 - 2 and 3 - 0 in the conference. I don't think we are a real threat to win the NCAA however. Most people who follow Gator recruiting closely expect us to finish with a top 10 class.
