Hmmm, a little really pre-season Weasel baiting appears to be in progress. Actually, I have no problem with this. I was not one who shed tears when the Tigers left Tiger Stadium and think the stadium needs to be upgraded. Major upgrades have been done at Ohio State, MSU, PSU, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Illinois in order to modernize antiquated facilities and boost revenue, and I do not recall reading how the upgrades ruined the architectual integrity of any of these facilities. From what I have read, the upgrades will blend with what is presently there and will not be the eyesore that the "Halo" was. I think the project will retain that great qualities of the historic stadium but add needed elements of modernity. Michigan does have a contingent of fans who share the same mind-set as t rabid baseball fans who want their team's stadium to remain as it was when Ty Cobb was running the bases. Of course these same people, when in need of medical care, probably would choose having their physician arrange for a MRI scan to be upon them rather than having him pull some leaches out of a jar. I appreciate the preservation of historic sites and do not think everything that is modern is better than that which it replaced. But, I similarly do not think everything must remain as is as I get older so that I can avoid feeling older.
