I think I also heard during the game Thursday night that the crowd was the largest Crowd ever in Joe Robbie Stadium.

Considering there have been several Super Bowls there that is impressive.

Seems the College Football game is alive and well.

Imagine what it would be like if you had 3 or 4 games like that for 3 or 4 consecutive Saturdays in December. :!:

What you gain in December you could stand to lose in November.

You know...I haven't seen one...not one NFL playoff game this year but I will probably watch the Conference Championships and certainly the Super Bowl.

By contrast I didn't miss a single big college football game of any importance throughout the season....but I do like the college game better.

Just think if all BCS conferences had conference championship games 1st week of Dec. May be a great step towards a playoff system.

Really? What game in November would you not watch? Alabama didn't wrap the SECW until a week after the LSU game, and then there was the Auburn game and then the SECC. Pretty full November and a fairly empty December. Personally, I didn't watch a complete game in December until after Christmas this year.

I guess if it took winning a conference to make the "playoffs" then we would still be compelled to watch November games....good point.

I would reduce it to the 4 highest rated conference champions ( top 4 seeds at home ) vs. the next 4 rated teams....champions or not......and then play the games every two weeks starting in the second week of Dec.

I would not however ever want to see Florida have to play FSU, the SECCG and then open the NCAA playoffs in three consecutive weeks. That would have to be amended somehow..

I also think every conference either plays a complete round robin in conference schedule or they have a conference championship game.

I watched a number of the early Bowl games. Notre Dame, FSU, Miami, Boise State in particular.

Also parts of some others like FAU. It fascinates me what Howard Schenellenberger has done at FAU.

Speaking of ratings, the Hawaii bowl had an increase of 108% this year. Thanks for watching.

While I support a playoff for FBS, it does reduce the importance of winning a conference title, to play for the MNC and gives a 3-4 loss team a shot at winning the playoff.

    Went to that game....great game.

Gaterz, I do like the present format with regard to the time to heal it gives top players on top teams.

Harvin's presence was huge Thurs. night.

A 3-4 loss team lucky with injuries could have an easier time knocking off a #1 rated team that just incurred key injuries the week before the playoffs started and I do not like that aspect of playoffs.

I know Murray was out for OU and no time was long enough for him but many times a player can get back with 5-6 weeks to rehab his injury....or in the case of Lawrence Phillips receive his "Get out of jail" card from his coach.......sorry AJ...couldn't resist!

I hate to sound like a broken record but every other college sport manages to support a playoff.

How many of the other sports only play a game once a week?

11 conference champions and 5 wildcards. How many 3 to 4 loss teams would have been in using that format? I am sure the super conferences would lobby for every last team they could get in, you aren't looking at this logically.

Assume the super conferences get their 2nd best teams in (not necessarily the winner of the other division...SEC East and Big12 South fans would love that).

You're now down to 3 open spots and you still haven't taken a 2nd team yet from the Big10, Pac10, Big East, ACC, Mountain West, WAC, Independents or MAC.

Where would these 3 or 4 loss teams come from?
