I'm interested in what you guys think about the game tomorrow night.

    My prediction is 41-34....Gators

Try not to let your partisan feelings get in the way. How about predictions based on if you were forced to make a sizable wager on the outcome...a money prediction if you will.

I don't really have a dog in this fight but my gut still says something to the tune of 49-24 Gators.

I think UF has not seen an offense like the Sooners and their (UF)defensive stats reflect the number of truly awful offenses in the SEC this year. Plus I think the Sooners have the speed on defense to counter the speed of the Gators. I don't think anybody in the SEC has the combination of power running like the Sooners and NFL level passing like Sooners.

I see the Sooners taking this one by 42-24.

I think this is the worst possible match-up for the Sooners. Their defense does NOT handle Mobile QB's very well.
Combine that with not having DeMarco Murray on offense, and I think OU will come up a little short.
    Something like UF 35 - OU 30.

I kind of agree with Scott here.

Where I think OU might make this interesting is with UF's DBs. I'm just not impressed. People were wide open all year last year and until they manage to make teams 1 dimensional (with their offense) people are wide open this year.

We were just talking about this in our office.. Julio Jones was open all day, JPW couldn't get it to him.. OU may not have a Julio Jones but they got 3 or 4 guys who are up there..and their QB is a helluva lot better than JPW.

Tebow is not mobile like a Terrelle Pryor or Vince Young, he's a full back playing QB. He gets to teams with those QB draws he runs right up and over people. I think the Sooner DL is perfectly set to handle that type of mobility.

    Question:

If Tebow goes down, how bad/good is Florida?

If Sam Bradford goes down how good/bad is OU. Both teams are what they are because of the QB play. The backups might be pretty good, but there would b a huge dropoff.

Yeah yeah yeah yeah....They said in '96 that the Fun and Gun would disect the Huskers all day....

OU is pissed and motivated. These kids do they same thing we do, they're on the internet, sportsblogs, ESPN, etc. All they see is Florida this, Tebow that, B12 can't play Defense....yada yada yada.

OU gonna spank that butt by at least 14 pts.

Corey, if Tebow went down a redshirt freshman, John Brantley, would be our QB. He did get playing time this year but that would be a disaster for the Gators.

    Gators 31 Oklahoma 21

Yeah, and so does Ohio State every single time that they play a big non-conference opponent. That seems to make a big difference for the Buckeyes. Not trying to needle the OSU fans but I think you're reading a little much into the extra motivation of everyone questioning your abilities. Something else to be concerned about if I'm a Sooner fan. Oklahoma is 1-4 in their last 5 bowl games including two losses recently in which they were heavily favored, the loss last season to WVU and the much-discussed loss to Boise St. Oklahoma may dominate Florida but I'll believe it when I see it.

Anybody else notice that all the BCS Bowl winners got essentially the same Cap?

    Fiesta Bowl

    Sugar Bowl

Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl looked the same to me as well.

What a bunch of Cheapo's....why didn't they all get distinctive caps for their bowl?

    So what.

Using Nebraska as an example, they lost 7 in a row before the "Run", and they had their butts handed to them 6 of those 7.

OU's abilities and they're motovation will be on hand Thursday night.

Here is a list of Florida's games this year and what the points against that UF defense would be if you took out the garbage scores at the end of the game due to blowouts:

    Aug. 30 Hawaii W 56-0
    Sept. 6 Miami W 26-3
    Sept. 13 OPEN DATE
    Sept. 20 at Tennessee W 30-6
    Sept. 27 Ole Miss L 31-30
    Oct. 4 at Arkansas W 38-7
    Oct. 11 LSU W 51-21
    Oct. 18 OPEN DATE
    Oct. 25 Kentucky W 63-3
    Nov. 1 Georgia (Jack.) W 49-3
    Nov. 8 at Vanderbilt W 42-7
    Nov. 15 South Carolina W 56-6
    Nov. 22 The Citadel W 70-6
    Nov. 29 at Florida State W 45-15
    Dec. 6 SEC Championship
    Alabama W 31-20

There may be some mediocre offenses in the bunch but still.....that's some pretty decent combination of offensive ball control along with stout defense.

Thanks for all of your input so far.

Seems like a split along the lines of the national opinion polls.

I guess that all depends on when the starters we're taken out of the game.

Here's the '83 season for Nebraska and we lost the NC game. Your never really safe.

Florida is going to own the Sooners in this one. Way too much speed + Tebow.

    51-27 UF

I don't think you'll ever see a schedule like that '83 Neb schedule again, no 1AA teams, Wyoming is the closest thing to a pastie.
