I agree with these comments from CFN about how it will shake-out after Thurs.'s game: All said in #1. by Fiutak: http://cfn.scout.com/2/827681.html
As BearDownRick pointed out, the BCS Nat'l Champion will be UF or OU. If USC had not let up in the 2nd half and let Penn State back in the game and finished them off with a big margin on the scoreboard they might have been able to get that split Nat'l title, as it was they let them back in the game and the score was closer than the game really was...but still will keep them from the AP title. Same thing for Texas, a great win, but they needed a dominating win. Utah again a great win, but Utah just doesn't have the support to make up that much ground to jump to #1 no matter who wins the UF/OU game or how it's played out. Corey and Gipper don't have votes.
MCG, Link to the article, We must follow copyright requirements or have our posts removed. I don't disagree with the content... just the way it is presented here.
So what's your point, I've already conceded that Texas didn't have the type of win it needed to legitimately enter into the NC debate anymore.
Tom....can you post just portions of articles? If so...do you then have to post the link as well to the whole article?
Go read the copyrignt announcement at the top of the Sports board. If tht does not answer your questions, then read the rest of this. If you copy someone's words/thoughts, you must link. The only exception to that is if it is from a printed article when you can't find it online to link to. In that case, credit the title of the article, the author, the date published, and publisher then write, in your own words what was said. This is a very important issue people. There is no room to fudge. Three people have been warned and those three people will have future notes removed WITHOUT EXPLANATION. Everyone else will receive one coaching just like this one before we start removing their messages.
My point was that SC when they didn't let up could really trounce a good team. But I knew somehow you'd get it back to something about Texas.
Did I hear last night that Mack Brown was going to vote his team number 1 in the poll? I thought there was an agreement that if you were in the coaches poll you would vote for the winner of the championship game. I'm not making an issue just asking if I heard wrong.
Bill my understanding has been like yours, there is no vote for the #1 slot it's automatically given to the winner. You can vote #2 through #25 but not for #1. Maybe if he writes in Texas in the #1 slot, his punishment is that his #1 vote gets tossed out completely and only his #2 through #25 votes get counted.
