Interesting going for that 2nd FG on 4th and 2. I can hear Stu telling me in the stands when OSU was settling for FG's in 2005, that's Tressel ball. The way they were moving it going for it on 4th and 2 didn't seem like much of a risk and the field position they ended up giving Texas wasn't that good.

Gotta tell ya I don't get bringing in Boekman...but I'm glad they did. Pryor so far is everything he's advertised to be, so smooth a runner. Texas is going to have to figure out how to contain Pryor and stop Beanie if we are going to win this game.

Very surprising low scoring game so far.

Ohio State interception at the goal line hurt Texas to end the half

Yeah I would have never predicted a 6-3 halftime score. So far Ohio State has taken it to the Longhorns, they have been tougher on both lines.

I didn't like Mack going for it on 4th and 7 any more than Tressel not going for it on 4th and 2.

Right now Texas just hasn't got anything going for it on offense, Mack better figure out something at halftime.

Definitely a different type game than I expected in the first half. We are holding our own on defense, but I cringe every time McCoy gets ready to throw!

Tressel is playing Boeckman more than I allowed. We need more consistency in the second half.

We have won the time clock, but we need to get in the endzone!

Right now it looks like the Bucks are playing off the UT recievers until they cross the 50 then they tighten down...bend don't break, don't give up the big play.

Horns looking a little better in the second half....As I type this, McCoy gets creamed deep in the backfield and gets whistled for intentional grounding. This has been a slobber knocker so far.. Gotta think that is actually in Ohio State's favor. Gonna be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Maybe we've figured out something defensively, offense is showing some life.

Lousy call by the ref on hit to the head of McCoy.

Texas used that to gain serious mo on their 1st TD drive.

I would go with Boeckman if I was Tressel.

    Congratulations Terry,

Tough one to lose but Colt McCoy did what he had to do and won the game with a terrific display of calmness and accuracy.

Exciting finish to an exciting game, played out a lot differently than I thought it would, but I liked the way it ended.

I have to say after the last Buckeye td I was pretty sure we couldn't go the length of the field and score a TD, I figured the Buckeyes would force us to hit a ton of 5-7 yd passes and we just wouldn't have enough time and even if we did get down there once the field was short and we couldn't run because of the clock the Bucks would just tee off on the UT OL and it would end with a sack. Of course I was wrong, good thing I didn't go to bed.

I hate to see my Buckeye budddies sad with a loss, but I know they'll be back next year even better. The future for T-P is extremely bright it's clear to see he's going to be a mega star at QB the next couple of years.

I like the way the Longhorns set up for next year as well, we'll certainly miss Quan Crosby as you can see but there will be a lot of talent comming back and the young guys in that defensive backfield will not be freshman anymore.

Rose Bowl 2004, Rose Bowl 2005, and Fiesta Bowl 2008...all nail biters down to the end with the Longhorns winning on essentially the last play. ....key word is winning.

I hope this isn't the end to the Ohio State/Texas series, it's been a great one.

    Good Night.

Ok Texas didn't win as easily as I thought they would. OSU played a good game. I give them credit.

Now on to Mack Brown and Colt McCoy. FLORIDA WILL OKLAHOMA! And you best be lucky you aren't playing them cause they would eat you alive too!

But I am still jealous. I'd give anything for a QB and OL and a RB and some WRs that could get open and a defense that didn't give up and a coach who was past his prime and out of date and.....well you get the picture!

    Great game by both teams.

OSU and the Big Ten lost another one but man were they ever competitive this time around.

Inches away...maybe an inch away...maybe a bad 4th down spot away from sealing the game on the last Texas drive.

Kudos to the Horns for pulling it out.

Nice comeback win for Texas. Thins out the NC herd a little in my mind. Now down to UF, OK, USC and Utah.

What happened to Beanie Wells? They showed him sitting on the bench, but I don't remember a big hit/blow that knocked him out? That was a big loss for the Bucks, he really had us back on our heels in the 1st half.'

As far as the spot on the 4th down, from what I saw on replay it was the correct placement. The personal foul in the 1st half was a bad call, it was definitely not a blow to the head...was it late though?

Overall though the refs didn't decide this game, the players did...

That spot was a tough one and oh so close but probably hard to overturn. It obviously was the game if short.

I think they called hit to the helmet on that hit to McCoy....not late hit and it did spark Texas to their first TD.
Oh well....a hit to shoulder then got the Horns started.

I agree the refs didn't decide the game but that call was pretty huge.

Congrats, Terry...good game by both teams...great game by Colt and your receivers...that made all the difference.

I even thought we had a pretty good pass rush most of the game but it didn't matter...couldn't shut him down.

Best team won...no question...but we coulda (shoulda?) had it.

I don't think the refs decided the game by any means...but close calls were critical...

I dunno...maybe this isn't the place to bring it up, but the refs are becoming such a big part of every football game...They've made the rules so convoluted and technical that it's impossible for the players to play penalty-free...then they call so many borderline contraversial calls that it is ridiculous.

I realize that many of the rules are for player safety and I am all for that...but still, a blow to the head ought to be an obvious blow to the head. The incidental facemask call now is back to a 15 yd. penalty. They allow holding on almost every play and then call ticky-tack holding calls as often as not. You have to be a referee yourself to understand all the illegal procedure rules, and I'm not even sure that they understand them all.

It seems like almost every drive is either stopped by a penalty or extended by a penalty.

What is the first thing you do when your team has made a great play (either offense or defense)?...you look with apprehension to see if there are any flags. (at least I find myself doing that.)

I watched the 1969 OSU-UM game the other day, and yes, there were penalties, but as I watched the game it struck me that the refs stayed out of it so much more than they do today.

Well, it wasn't very gracious of me to vent about this on a congratulatory message to Terry and B12 fans...Texas played great and clearly earned the win.

BTW...anybody notice that the Purdue women beat #4 ranked Texas last night.

Congratulations, Terry and the SB Bucks contingent. That was great game and probably the most exciting game of this year's bowls. By the middle of the third quarter, I thought that Texas was going to win comfortably since the Bucks seemed to have no answer to stop McCoy when Texas was running its hurry up offense. But, Ohio was able to hang in there amd claw its way back into the game even with Beanie on the sidelines and were inches away from pulling off the upset.

McCoy was simply incredible. He took a beating out there but got up shredded the Bucks defensive secondary.

Frankly, in terms of figuring out who is no. 1, the BCS failed this year. Texas, USC, and Utah all have legitimate arguments why each is the best team in the country

On a side note, Bevo's presence on the sideline must mean that UT has a deep pockets athletic budget. Did they fly him first class to Arizona or have some luxury, air-conditioned semi stocked with imported feed and a flat screen TV for the driver to transport him from Austin to Arizona?
