What happened to that QB Callahan got out of Fla 2 years ago when you had the #1 recruiting class. I don't see him in the passing stats, I see 2 qbs but the 2nd one doesn't ring a bell. Looks like you guys must have a good OL and some good RB's.
Harrison Beck is who your thinking of Doc. He's nursing a shoulder injury from spring practice. Nothing to worry about. OL and the rushing game were the theme of the day, even though most TD's were through the air. Good gettin' better, strong gettin' stronger!!
Yeah Beck is the guy, he'll be a redshirt frosh this year right. Then take over next year when Zac Taylor moves on to the Pros I assume.
Hey hows the new Driver working out? Have you had much of a chance, weather wise, to get out and knock it around very much or pretty much just driving range right now? I'm getting ready for my annual trek to Hilton Head next week, hopefully my new hybrids will like the Carolina Coast.
Played yesterday in a foursome that included a previous winner of the All-Marine golf team. He carries a 2.4 handicap. We played a $1 a hole skins game and only lost $2.00. BBBBuuuutttttttt....I took low putts on the front, back and overall for $6.00 so I came out ahead money wise. I'm loving my new sticks....10-15 yards extra on the irons....285 plus on the big dog.
I'm leaving for my annual Myrtle Beach trek Friday... Finally took my kids' advice and broke down and found a new 460cc driver that I thought I could hit...bought it unseen off the internet...Cobra M Speed offset 12 degree... I've had it one month...took it to Pinehurst and played nine rounds and only lost one ball... Have dropped my handicap index 2 strokes. Shot 77 Thursday, then turned around and shot 76 on Saturday...I have never broken 80 twice in a row before... Golf is fun again. stu
I've got a Cobra 440 SZ 10.5 that I've had for a couple of years, had it reshafted last year and it made a great club even better. But that was a big leap of faith to get one off the Internet without ever having hit it, I wouldn't have the nerve!! I've never been to Myrtle Beach though, been invited several times but timing was never right. I am hoping to move a little north to Kiwah Island (up by Charleston), they have some great courses up there. Terry
AJ...285 that'd be 300+ here in Houston during the summer when the fairways are a little hard and the ball rolls really well!! Terry
Stu, Here's one in North Myrtle Beach that I have played. It was voted best new public crs in America in 1987. HEATHER GLENN
Thanks, AJ...I've played Heather Glen several times...it's one of our regulars and one of our our favorites but it's not on this year's schedule. George, here is our list; 1.Arcadian Shores (one of my favorite older courses down there) 2.The Wizard (played it once in a strong wind...it kicked my @ss) 3.World Tour (played it once before...tough but lots of fun...holes modeled after St. Andrews 1 and 18, TPC 17, and all three holes at Amen Corner) 4.Pearl East (played it twice before) 5.Glen Dornach (a beutiful track in Little River...it's the course you go past when you take the gambling boat out) 6.Pine Lakes (old school course) 7.Prestwick (Pete Dye...'nough said) stu
Terry, you're right, it was kind of a leap of faith...but with my tendency to hit woods with a low trajectory, and a tendency for a cut swing... If I couldn't hit a 12.5 degree driver with an offset, I couldn't hit any of the new drivers, so I went ahead and ordered it. What's interesting is it has such a big clubhead, that I have a better feel for where the clubface is and what angle it's coming into the ball from, and it's almost easier for me to bring it into the ball square because I can sense what's happening better... and then that feel has carried over to my other clubs and I feel like I'm hitting them straighter also. Yeah, right...we'll see how long it lasts. stu
Stu, I've played Glen Dornoch and The Wizard. Check out Black Bear, Thistle or Crow Creek sometime. Up on the north end of the Strand. If you go to Crazy Horse would you look for my wallet?
