No. He was offensive tackles and tight ends coach in 1996 and 1997. For UGA, he is a defensive line coach if I'm not mistaken.

    Question.

How is Gary Patterson Fran Jr?

Fran road the coat tails of a fantastic RB, who is now a pro-bowl RB... Patterson has done it all with some really good defense.

He learned at the seat of the master so he's forever Fran Jr. I wonder if he's told the TCU guys he'll back or will he wait till he's on the plane to Auburn? :)

Tom is Garner the one that Tailback used to say was a cheater at recruiting or was that Trooper Taylor. Didn't both end up at UGA, where they magically became good guys!! :)

You are right about garner but Trooper left Tennessee when he was not offered the OC position. He went to Oklahoma State as a Co-OC. I wouldn't mind seeing LK bring him back. He was a big time motivator!

A&M's coach had a problem with integrity. He showed this shortcoming at Alabama and again at A&M. That is not the problem at Notre Dame.

Some radio talk show stuff about Will Muschamp being the secret candidate for the Auburn job. I can't believe Muschamp would agree to be the coach in waiting at UT if he were going to listen to other offers. He had to know that he was a hot commodity and had he been willing to interview would have been a candidate at a number of places. So he had to be pretty darn serious about staying at UT as a DCoord.

Mack Brown said after the announcement that he had no intention of retiring any time soon, and he had 8 years left on his contract so Will couldn't have been decieved (plus it's not like Mack to do anything like that).

Muschamp certainly will have to be patient, sort of like Tom Bradley has been at Penn State. But he will be extremely well compensated as an DCoord, and maybe he values the stability for his family of the situation.

But no way do I think he goes to Auburn.

why come to Auburn to get your arse kicked on and off the field by Saban when you can play White Prince in Austin? Doesn't make any sense.

Good, I would have lost faith in man if he'd left soon after the press conference announcing his desire to be the HC in waiting.

    coaching

<r>See what I mean? all these people crazy to replace CW at ND not realizing the mess that my ensue trying to find another coach. The press just loves this stuff. Now whoever the coach finally is they will say he was Auburn's 2nd or 3rd choice or whatever. <br/>
    <br/>
If ND does replace CW eventually let's hope the AD already has a guy who is ready, willing and able to take over when he is asked the FIRST time. I don't think any of us want to see ND drug through the mud again when searching for a coach.<br/>

Agreed. Unfortunately, there are enough people in the media who enjoy doing it that they will look for any excuse. Until we begin winning consistently, it will continue to happen. :(

Oh my God....Auburn just hired Gene Chizik who was 5-19 at Iowa State in his 2 years, they were worse this year than last year...didn't win a B12 game and 2-10 was their over all record. He was the DCoord on the last undefeated Auburn team and the DCoord on the 2005 Texas team. But he really hasn't shown anything as a head coach.

They would have been better to somehow have worked things out with Tubberville.
