Game Three!! I like this match up! I expect a great game. Ohio State having been to Phoenix many times will have home field advantage!
Terry, I am happy with this match up and will be looking forward to the game. Expect a lot of Scarlet & Gray in Glendale! Don
T, I am fairly certain that the good doc is making a bit of a spoof on another posters insinuation that a certain conference holds a 'home field' advantage in Arizona.
I get it.....thanks for setting me straight Corey....I've been missing for a few days. In any event, the Buckeye Nation will be out in force..... 8)
A for effort TOk.....but I ain't buying it. It's an extra thousand miles or so from Phoenix to Columbus as it is Phoenix to Austin. Planes? We don't use no stinkin' planes....the Buckeye Nation travels in style!
hmmmmmmm I seem to have lost a post....wonder what happened. It was the one BuckeyeT was responding to...
uh...maybe that's why my golf score is so bad...I'm forgetting to write down the correct score on each hole!!
TOK...gettin' his teams mixed up... "Hey Doc, thanks for the new crown, but I though we were gonna do the one on the left side!????"
I am much more optimistic than some about the Buckeye's chances in this game. Jim Tressel will want this one real...real bad...for his program and for the Big Ten. Ohio State will show Texas the best defense they have faced all season by far and I think Pryor getting 4 weeks to prepare will be of tremendous help. Should be an excellent game.
Should be a very good game. Interestingly, a Texas win could "muddy" the discussion as regards which team is the 2008 MNC, while an Ohio State win would provide a little clarity.
Only thing is UF has 50 first place votes and is way ahead of third place Texas in the AP poll and a win over Okla for Fla should solidify that lead.
I think these teams are pretty evenly matched. Texas has speed and athleticism on defense and Brian Orakpro a NFL first rounder on the DL. Our running backs have been steadily improving over the season. Fozzy Whittiaker had a stellar HS career and in thier playoff game in their Sr seasons outdueled the much ballywhooed Sam McGuffie. He redshirted last year and wasn't healthy early in the year, but he's healthy now and has been playing very well. But we are more of a RB by committee type of team. None of them is as good as Beanie Wells, but combined we should get the job done. Colt has several Sr WR's who are his favorite targets in Jordan Shipley, who will remind OSU fans of the Gonzalez kid they had a couple of years ago and Quann Crosby. But we also have some young tall very speed WR's in Malcolm Williams and Dan Buckner who should give the Buckeye DB's something to think about as well. Over all I really think this has the potential to be the best bowl matchup out there, teams with tradition, loaded with talent, both are healthy and have big name players, both have legendary coaches and something to prove. Plus it being the rubber match in a 3 game series with some players from both teams having played each other in 2005 and 2006. Also while some have hinted that only those in Texas or Ohio will care much about this game. I believe it will have a high rating from coast to coast. Won't top the NC game of course but I wouldn't be shocked if it wasn't the 2nd most viewed game on TV during the bowl season.
