Gameday baby.....Go Gators!!! Should be a classic. One of the best things I ever did was decide to attend the very first SEC CG in Atlanta....in 1994 Fla vs. Bama... Great experience and it gives me perspective on what it would be like to be there today. In more certain times I would have given it serious thought to make the trip this time. In any event I expect some hard hitting and spectacular plays......like maybe a game turning blocked punt by Florida or a Brandon James punt return. And now...this word from ESPN: http://myespn.go.com/blogs/sec/0-3-35/Look-for-Florida-s-Harvin-to-play-against-Alabama.html I like the Gators by about 35-21....
....I have to revise my prediction for no Harvin... In a hard fought game decided by and large by a special teams play and perhaps a Wilson int the Mighty Gators prevail 24-21.
Terrific game, and what was best is that UF covered and I won't have to move into a homeless shelter with MCG or into hillbilly heaven with Gator Bill!!
Thanks kp. That was a good game, one I though UF was going to lose as I watched Alabama dominate the 3rd quarter. Somehow, the UF units were able to regain some momentum and pull out a win against a very good team. I expect Alabam will have a big win in the Sugar Bowl, assuming UF does get into the Miami BCS+1.
Awesome game by both squads and I was very impressed with Bama on both sides of the ball today. Terry....LOL.....you got room down there now?
Very entertaining well played football game. Tebow was just awsome. Looked like Bama had taken control of the game in the third but the Gators were just too tough in the 4th.
Congratulations to Florida and their fans. An excellent game on both sides and some great football. Don
This game was a war and an absolute treat to watch. Well done on both parts. Alabama made 2 mistakes, one was a 6 point swing and the other set up Florida for a TD. That was the difference. Great, great game.
Thanks for all the cudos about the Gators.....really appreciated. Of course I'm reading all that I can soak up this am and here is a particularly nice excerpt from the Atlanta Journal Constitution: "Florida beat the nation’s No. 1 team on the day the Gators worked without their second-best player. Think about that. Think also about this: Through three quarters, the Tide had been the stronger team. And then the fourth quarter arrived and what had been a riveting contest became no contest at all. Meyer: “It was a dogfight. It was check-your-will … I felt like we took some body blows — [Alabama] stuck it right down our throat in the third quarter — but we came back with the play of the day, the drive of the year.” We’d grown used to seeing Florida win with speed, but there was no flash to this fourth quarter. The longest gain on the go-ahead possession was 13 yards. It was Alabama that had more yards passing on the day, Alabama that managed the game’s longest run. But it was Florida that slugged harder when it mattered. “We didn’t finish,” Saban said. “They did. And he [meaning guess who] made a lot of those plays.” If you’re counting, this makes five championships won by Florida in this city since 2005 — two SEC basketball tournaments, two SEC football titles and the 2007 NCAA championship. We can say this run of excellence is getting a bit old, but that would be petty and also dead wrong. Greatness in any form is a treat to watch. It’s time again to grit our teeth and admit that greatness resides in Gainesville, Fla." Nice article coming from a Georgia writer....
